SEVERAL colors go with Yellow believe it or not. I personally love yellow and blue. but it depends on where and when your wedding is. Mine is in Janurary, yellow and blue just seems a little more "spring". If you like a more modern scheme, black or grey with yellow is pretty cool. I've always admired this inspiration board on style me pretty.

Orange can be really pretty but like you said, not every one looks great in it. Also its is very close to yellow so it maybe a little overwhelming.
IMO try a color on the other side of the color wheel. (blue is exactly oppisite, but theres also green and purple)
good luck!
The platinum gray does look great with yellow, as do shades of blue and the chocolate brown color that has been so popular.
I would say not yellow and black without an intermediary color since you may not want your bridal party to look like a bumblebee...though that could be a cute wedding theme...okay, way off topic.
I'd suggest going to your local hardware store and playing with paint chips: it's an easy and cost-free way to figure out which colors look right together to you.
i think going the grey route...almost a mauve-ish grey would be nice too. try this website...it's mostly a design color swatch site but a lot of people can go on and make their own swatches. you can look through and see what you like. whats great about the site too is if you use illustrator, you can load the swatches directly into the program...i love this program and use it for a lot of my color swatch problems! hope this helps!
I was thinking about the paint chips - glad it's not as insane as it seemed originally :P
I love that black white and yellow wedding, think it might be easier on the girls too- if they all had black and white dresses in a similar shape but different fabrics etc (so, buy their own from wherever) they'd look vaguely matchy, right? I don't want them matching but they want to look like bridesmaids rather than random guests holding flowers
Black, white and yellow is very cool and modern - check out Miss Chickadee's posts for ideas, as I believe this is her colour scheme! I would also suggest green though - a light celery green or an apple green would really pop with yellow.
you can also try the yellow and celadon green... it's one of the color combos that the knot.com picked as one of the new "it" color schemes this year...
take a look

You can check out Snippet and Ink for inspiration. Just search "Yellow" and you can see the different combinations that come up.
I think fuchsia is a very pretty combination with yellow!!! The right shade of yellow of course!

So I've found a dress I love and it's going to be very similar to this watters dress (on the left) http://www.bridalwave.tv/Watters%205Feb.JPG
I love the colours and the length, but am having a bit of trouble envisioning my (3) bridesmaid's colours to go with it. The plan is to have them either in the same dress but different colours, or the same colour and different dresses. I like orange but don't think they'd all be as keen (and really want them to be comfortable), does anyone have ideas?
Any pictures, inspiration, whatever would be fantastic. Help me out bees!
