You should get a DVD of the photos probably sent when you get the album made.
It really depends on your photographer and your contract.
It's strange to me that you're suppose to get electronic copies of the photos but you're getting print proofs. Are you only suppose to select a certain # of edited images for the disc??? Are you suppose to get some prints in addition to the disk???
If not, to be honest, this is a bit of a waste of time IMO (or a possible way to try to sell you on prints or an album). Why take the time to print out pictures when the client is expecting a disc of already edited images and no prints or album?
To sum this up, really only your photographer knows what's next.
I agree with FutureMrsDuff. You shouldn't be receiving both.
We only got a DVD of images - no proofs, nothing else.
Either way, if you agreed on a DVD of all images, that's what you should get.
We got to view the pictures and then ordered only the prints that were in our contract. The DVD and the prints came at the same time. Se didn't get any printed "proofs". This does seem different since you're not getting an album, what does the contract say? Canyou email you photographer and ask? We actually also got a CD of the low res prints too since my husband couldn't make it to the meeting, this way I got to view and pick the prints and then he saw them after.
Discuss this with your photographer. They'll be able to answer any timeline questions you may have. It's different with each one.

i just got a note from my photog that the print proofs are finally ready. we are not having an album made and are supposed to receive electronic copies of the photos for our own use. should i expect the dvd of the photos when i pick up the proofs as well?
what happened in your situation?
