What happens when you literally do not like any baby name?

@Sanola831:  I can imagine feeling that way with boy names too. I have a looong list of girl names, but I really struggle with the boys, and FI and I rarely agree. I would personally just try to gather together a short list, and wait until your baby boy is in your arms before you name him. Hopefully then a certain name will just seem right 🙂

Maybe you should wait until you see his face? He might suddenly strike you as fitting one name or another perfectly. I wouldn’t panic at any rate, I know my parents took a week or two to decide on my name and I suffered no ill effects as a result!

@Sanola831:  you don’t have to have a name picked out. Wait until the day he is born and see his personality. A name will come to you and more than likely it’ll be a name you thought you didn’t like. I was wanting the name rylan for our son, but fi didn’t like it. We settled on Austin Rylan. And I’m glad that we did that because Austin suits him. Just have a few good ones picked out just in case it still is a problem after birth. 🙂

I bet when you see your baby you will think of a name you love that is perfect for him 🙂

We’re the opposite. We have 4 or 5 boy names we both love, but having a hard time with a girl’s name.

@Sanola831:  my nephew’s name had never been uttered before the day after he was born. They had a white board in the room and were brainstorming and then there it was!

My advice is always to find criteria that are important. My sister wanted something French or German. I wanted something uncommon without being weird, easy to say/spell, presidential sounding. That really helped me narrow things down and have a tangible reason for saying no to certain names.

After fighting for Everett and against Nathan (and William, Sean, Connor- listen dude I am NOT Irish!) we found the perfect name. The same will happen for you.

That happend to me too, I finally decided around 8-9 months and went with something totally off the wall. I think sometimes they have a specific name and you just have to discover it. Toy around with names you wouldn’t normally look at, strange names, etc.

Also when you see him it may just come to you, my mother was going to name me Cassie and she named me Jasmine and always said she had no idea why, she hated the name when she was looking through pregnancy books.
