For married brides or brides who know this question! What happens to the centerpieces after the wedding? Does the florist keep the vases and we can take the flowers if we want? Are we paying to keep the vases too? I'm going to ask my florist, but I wanted to know what the general rule is. How much have you paid if you wanted to keep the centerpieces to give them away?

It depends on the florist.  Some florists include the vase purchase price in their quote, others include a rental fee, and some will let you purchase vases for an additional fee.  For the florists who rent vases, they may come at the end of the event to collect the vases or you may be responsible for returning them with a few days yourself.  At the end of the night, the florist might put all the flowers in a bucket or toss whatever has not been taken by guests.

I found that I could purchase vases myself for less money than the florists were selling them for ($6 on my own v. $11-$13 from the florist...for a footed vase).  The florist I hired will use the vases I purchase with no fee to me.

Again, all of this depends on the florist and the vases you want (if you even want them).

    Thanks Jordynrose!

They didnt really talk about it when I gave them a payment or when I told him what kind of vases we wanted and I didnt think about it until now!! I'll have to call...i know every florist is probably different. I just didnt want to call and have it seem like a weird question! :)
