So happy to be an April 2013 bride!!!
So, I booked the venue. I pretty much know what the color scheme is and what decor I want. I have an idea of what the STD will look like too. (sending out in June) I am struggling with picking out a photographer right now. I don’t plan on shopping for a dress until June because I am giving myself some time to lose weight.
Where is everyone else in the planning process?

Im getting married April 27, 2013. I have already found the bridesmaid dresses and picked the flowers. I have looked at a few wedding dresses but since I’m having a destination wedding I’m having a hard time trying to find the right dress.

We have already signed contracts with our caterer, venue, and wedding planner. Colors are set (grey and yellow). We have gotten quotes for linens, cake, and flowers. Are going next week to look at some photographers. I have done much online shopping for dress ideas for both myself and my bridesmaids, but have not selected anything yet. I’m more concerned about what the guys are going to wear because I want them to grey suits, but having a hard time finding one I like that is affordable.
I’m absolutely terrified of the day that I have to go shopping with my mom for what she will wear. :/

We’ve booked the venue and the photographer. I’ve purchased my dress. In contract negotiations with the DJ. Narrowed down (but not selected) bridesmaid dresses. Working on the guest list now. I fluctuate between feeling like I’m really ahead of the curve and feeling like there is so much to do that I’ll never get it all done,

We booked our ceremony site. Booked our reception venue. I ordered my dress. We printed out all of our invitations (now we just need to assemble and address them). I made my bouquet, a bridesmaid bouquet, and a few boutinierrs (sp?). I started our centerpieces. Spray painted our table number holders. And we are just waiting to meet with a photographer for a second time before we book them. I thik that’s it… there may be more. Our second bedroom looks like a wedding supply shop LOL

We are getting married 4/20/13. So far was have
-booked the venue
-reserved the church
-booked the limo
-booked the photographer
-booked the DJ
-booked the photobooth
-booked the person making our video montage for the reception
-picked out the bridesmaid dresses (bill levokk style #124)
-have the guest list ALMOST finalized
-met with invitation place
-booked the honeymoon (st. lucia!)
-purchased bands for both myself and Fiance
-have pre cana class next week (4/14)
-have the food tasting in 2 weeks (4/21)
the cake and the centerpieces come with the package we picked for the venue. we still have to sit down and meet with the florist about the boquets/corsages. i also need to call about rehersal places. I am hoping if I book that now, they will give me 2012 prices rather than 2013!
Still feels like so much more to do! But I admit, I love it!

@katie395: Are you supposed to have all those things done by now, because if so I am WAY far behind. I’m still working on securing a venue for my (what I hope to be) April 27th wedding. Aside from that though, I really have’t done anything yet. (Aside for putting together and sending off my FI’s K1 (fiance) visa application packet – which took longer than I had anticipated) I guess I’d better get moving!

@Irish Terrier: You are fine! Do not stress and please don’t gauge your timeline off of mine or any one else’s! It all depends on where you live and many other factors. I am a little on the OCD side so I kind of fully emersed myself into the wedding planning stuff right after we got engaged (12/25/11)
I think the first thing that is most important is having a general idea of how many people you want to invite, that was the first thing that all the venues I looked at asked. The next thing is budget. Budget is a biggie. Figure out yout max for each thing and stick to it!
You will be fine! For me, it is fun and I love doing it. I am known by my family and friends as a planner and impatient 🙂

@katie395: Thanks Katie! I didn’t really think I needed to have ALL those things done just yet- but i’ll be honest, the fact that I haven’t even secured a venue yet had me a bit worried after I first read through this thread. I’m glad to know I’m still okay though, I really hoped I would be! Good luck with the rest of your planning!! 🙂

Eek you guys are all really far along! I just booked my venue this weekend and thats about all I’ve done so far. I work night shift and I’m having trouble calling and meeting with vendors since I sleep during business hours. I’m switching to days soon so let’s hope I can get more done then!

@Ms. Kay: Venue is a HUGE step! Congrats! You are getting there and everything else will start to fall into place! Don’t stress….we have a whole year to go!

I just booked my venue this morning for the twenty-seventh, so right now I am feeling pretty good about that! Next week I will probably finish finalizing the guest list, and then hopefully soon after I’ll be able to start shopping for a dress!
