My wedding is in September 2010. I've done the following:
-Booked venue and caterer, which also does cake
-Booked the hair and makeup artist
-Groomsmen and bridesmaids outfits are taken care of
-Got the dress
-Booked the photographer
-Booked the DJ
-Created a wedding website
-Started a registry
Currently in the throes of designing the save the date emails and am still in the middle of making the physical invites. Also started a workout program to try and lose some weight!
Pendragon.nyc: You are really on a move!!! Way to go. Keep up the good work.
Oh yes. November 20th, here! So far we have:
Booked the photographer
Found/put the deposit down on the dress
Found/bought the suit
Booked the venue (which also includes catering, centerpieces, and flowers)
Booked the officiant for our civil ceremony
Started to find flowers
Finished the DIY Invitations (only need to be printed now)
Planned the rehearsal dinner
Started on the wedding favors...I'm knitting 100 scarves. So far I'm at 7!
Established that we'll be using escort cards
Planned the escort cards
We still have lots left to do...we need to find gifts for our bridesmaids, they need to find clothing, we need to figure out who is going to be marrying us for our Catholic ceremony and establish the guest list.
What are those things that you're finding you just can't do now? For me, it's the invitations. But we can't finalize the list for another six months or so!
My wedding is October 2010 and this is what has been done thus far:
- Dress found and I love it
- wedding/reception venue
- photographer
- DJ
- Groomsmen, Ushers, Bridesmaids and readers have all been asked to participate
- Honeymoon (we know where we're going but haven't booked yet)
We're bridesmaid dress browsing this weekend. I can't wait.
- Hotel for Guests
- Invitations designed by my awesome cousin
- Asked a 2nd cousin of mine to be our officiant
Pendragon.nyc & stephinPA- that's so great you have so much planned already!! My partner and I are having a mini-destination wedding and are planning on heading up to the small mountain town weekend after next to put our deposit down. Until then, I guess you can say that nothing is truly "final."
We've also picked out a photographer that we love and that is super affordable, so the second our venue is booked we'll be calling him to reserve him also!
Keep it up, November 2010 Bees!

Compared to so of you ladies, I feel like a slacker.
Hello there!
I'm new to all of this and I'm a November bride too! Whoop de woop!
All we've done is organise the venue and date!
Yikes! Maybe we're just slackers in the UK!!
Annaxx
@Miss Helen - You have accomplished so much. I am really impressed, especially with the scarves you are knitting. You go rock. I understand about the fustrations regarding the invitations, because I am facing the same issues. Still trying to finalize the invitation lists and get addresses. It has also been a hassle trying to get pictures from some of our bridal party members to use on our wedding website. . .but I guess these are the woes, trials and tribulations of wedding planning.
@MstoMrs - Don't be hard on yourself. You already have the ball rolling in the right direction. We almost have twin dates, therefore we are going to be busy and blissful on the same week-end next year. Yeah baby!!!
@Anna - Welcome to the November 2010 board. And of course, UK girls are not slackers. You guys are just big planners with your own sense of time. Happy planning, y'all.
@StephinPA - You've got alot of the big things taken care of. Even though you are not a November 2010 bride, we still love you. The many the merrier. How can we convince you to become a November 2010 bride? LOL!!! Just kidding. We are glad to have you in our midst.
Great job ladies! Keep it going, don't forget to hire a planner even if it is a DOC. You need to enjoy your day and not stress.
Happy Planning :-)

@SoontobeMrsDavis - Welcome and congratulations . . . You have really been busy. Good for you. You even have transportation taken care. I haven't even started looking at transportation. We have a large bridal party, so it looks like we are going to have to go the limo bus route. Keep on buzzing, busy bee in New Jersey . . .LOL!!!
Chocolate Delight- Thanks! yeah I like to be organized that way I know what has to be done and what is done... The limo bus is a good idea for a big party.. Thats what we're doing & I love how we don't have to split up the party between 2 limos.. Let us know what you decide!!
Oh my word you ladies have so much done already! I'm definitely feeling like a slacker! I have found where I want my ceremony and reception but haven't booked it yet... (waiting for confirmation from my childhood pastor saying he can officiate on that date)
I've found my dream dress, but probably won't purchase it for a couple more months
I'm pretty sure I've found my photographers (one here in Houston for engagement and bridal, and one in CA for the wedding)
I've also chosen my bridal party.
Wow I feel so behind lol! I haven't booked anything yet but I know what I want! the fist thing will be the wedding reception site a beautiful historic hotel in town, the we will go from there. Hopefully by the next couple of weeks I will have more done :)
@nbblondie & Mimi29 - You ladies are just fine. We all work at a pace which we are comfortable with. You ladies seem to already an idea of what you want to do, so that is a first good step. So, the next step is to at least make some firm plans/commitments. Happy Planning . . . Let's get this show on the road.
Hello Everyone,
My wedding date is November 13th. So far this it what I've done:

I will be going with my maid of honor to look at wedding dresses next weekend. The videographer I wanted was already booked on my day :-( but he did recommend another company. Hopefully more will get done in the next couple of weeks!

Let the countdown begin . . . We are a year from the big day, so what have we accomplished so far?
Here is my list:
Hired a wedding coordinator; Selected and notified members of the bridal party; Reserved the ceremony (church) and reception venues (Cotton Mill of Mckinney); went dress shopping with my mom in early October and found my dress (YAY); Booked our photographer and videographer; Figured out what my centerpieces are going to be and bought a lot of the items needed (my guestroom is overflowing with boxes).
So, have youy busted a move yet?
