Just curious. My Fi and I don’t have a hobby that we share. Being long distance, we consider our "Hobby" to be movie and wine nights on the couch! But we’ve talked about how we should find something enjoyable for us to partake in after we’re married and he gets out of the Army. We’ve floated the idea of joining an adult softball league and learning to play golf. Nothing else is striking a chord with us so far.
So what’s your hobby? Do share!

We’re both nerds and like a lot of the same things. One of our hobbies is Warhammer Online, which we can’t really play together since his computer is the only one that the game will run on (hopefully mine will eventually). We both like going to the beach and reading too.

My FI and I play golf together. On pleasant sunday afternoons we are usually at the driving range or playing 18 holes together. He got into it first and started teaching me and we’ve been playing together for about 5 years now. To make it fun, we started having our own golf competition.

Our big hobby that we share is outdoors stuff. We do a ton of backpacking, canoe trips, hiking, cross country skiing, etc. That counts for most of our personal hobbies, haha. We’re also both big readers and like the same books – a good mix of lit and poetry and science non-fiction. And, I don’t know if it counts as a hobby, but we play our xbox together pretty often too.

We don’t really share hobbies either. My FI is an advid golfer and after 6 years of being together I have yet to pick up a club and play. However he said after we are married he will be teaching me.
We would also like to get into hiking. something outdoorsy
We do share a ‘passion’ for movies. ha ha we love to go out and watch all the movies that are out in theartre. could that be a hobby? movie watching? ha ha

For us, it is our interests more than hobbies that we have in common. We both love football and baseball games, entertaining friends, going out to eat, etc. But he is much more athletic than I am, he rides his bike a lot (embarressed to say I can’t ride a bike), he likes video games (I rather read magazines).
I really want to start playing tennis so maybe I could convince him to start playing with me.

Like GaBGal, ours are more interests than hobbies. We like to do things together like paint, go to the driving range or the batting cage and we even have played tennis together. We also play our Wii together and love to watch movies. We just have a great time doing things together.

Um … so … Mr. Bunny taught me how to play Magic: The Gathering … *mumbles*andiloveit.
But hey, we didn’t have that much in common before, so its given us something that we can really share. And honestly, I don’t mind being the only girl in the comic shop on Friday nights …

We share a lot of common interests, which makes it pretty easy for us to share hobbies. The big ones that come to mind: board games, cooking, Zelda, travel, reading (we always give one another book reccomendations), and our newest hobby is gardening. I think our next big thing is going to be kayaking… if weather will ever permit!

he sometimes complain that we don’t like to do stuff together (for example he likes shoot-em-up movies and I like rom-coms) but we both love to go out with friends, bbq, play tennis (not following all of the rules since its just us and it can be more fun), Wii, and go camping. I find that it takes some work to get one of us to try something new (ie me and tennis!) but if you consciously give each other chances you’re bound to find some shared activities fun 🙂

We don’t really have a hobby either. I guess doing home improvement projects and movie nights are about all.
While he’d rather spend every waking second doing anything home improvement related or hanging on a beach, I’d rather read. Personally, if our relationship is based on shared interests, it may come down to addiction to the Travel Channel…that doesn’t sound too great. He is a runner, too…and even though I’ve really tried, I’m just not that into it.
So I guess I’ll be following this thread for ideas, too!

My FI got "me" a two-person kayak last year for my birthday. I was skeptical at first, but it is so much fun to take it out in the bays and rivers and paddle around. He likes to pack a fishing pole occassionally. I usually take a magazine along and soak up some sun.
We are also looking at golf clubs, so we can start doing that together as well.

Okay, I’m a country girl (not to be confused with a hillbilly; lol) but FI and I enjoy riding ATV’s (aka: four wheelers), fishing (it’s just calming, listening to nature *sigh*), video games, movies. But I’m kinda a nerd too. And a book worm. lol! We can’t wait until after October so we can go camping together. (We don’t live together or stay the night with one another).
I love outdoorsy stuff! I’m a nature girl!

both of us scuba dive – its how we met

We like to do wine-tasting. And he’s a big rugby fan so I’ve started paying attention more since I met him and enjoy going to games (as long as the weather is good!).
We also go hillwalking every now and then and a couple times we went geocaching – google it – it’s a fun way to go for a hike!
But mostly I make dinner, he brings the wine and we crash when we should be working on the various renovation projects that have to be finished!!!
