Just for fun…
Did you plan out your life in high school/middle school? How different or the same was it?
I am 24 years old. I graduated high school in 2005 and college in 2009.
When I was in high school I thought:
-I would be engaged by 21
-I would be married by 22i
-I would have my first child at 24
-I would have a 2nd child by 26
-I would have my last child by 28
Hahaha, my oh my how different some things are. In real life:
-Engaged at 22
-Will be married at 24, a few weeks before turning 25
-Do not want kids for the first 3-4 years of marriage, which would put me at 28 or 29 by the time I have my first kid
Hahaha, I think I’m running behind. I honestly cannot imagine if things had happened faster for me. Not that I think younger engagements/marriages/babies are a bad thing .. I just cannot imagine already being married, having a child and thinking about getting ready to have another. I still feel like such a child myself. I can’t believe I’m getting ready to get married!

yeah, I did that too.
I wanted to get engaged at 26 and married at 28 and have kids at 29, be done with having kids by 37ish.
Real life: engaged at 19, married at 19, undecided about having children. If we did have them I guess we would start at 24-26, there are a lot of factors with that.

@ThePrincessMaggie-I know .. I was planning my life like having children was just like saying “Ok it is time” and pressing a button.

Yeah, I thought I would get married at 20, start having kids around 21-22, be done with kids by 25.
I got married at 20, divorced at 22, engaged again at 26, getting married at 29, and hopefully kids soon after. I will not have any kids after 35. I’m happy about getting married later, but not so much about the kid thing. I really wanted to be a “younger” mom.

Life seldom adheres to the plans we make when we’re younger, but it often turns out better! I would be absolutely miserable if I’d followed the plan I had when I was growing up!

When I was in high school I was still with my ex, and we were planning to get married… in a few months. holy crap. (at least, that was one of the dates thrown out there)

@Cappugcino–Me too! I’m so much happier with the way life took care of itself.
