I agree towels are always a great idea. Do they live together and already have everything they need?

I just started a thread on a bridal shower gift this morning because I was stumped! I concluded that I am going to make them a gift basket. I haven’t decided if it will be a romantic/honeymoon esque basket or if I’m going to do a grilling/outdoor basket. However, this may not be suitable for your bride at all SO i would recommend asking if & where she is registered. If she is not registered than you could always get her something unique that you don’t think anyone else would get ex. Personalized items (look at thirtyonegifts.com), cookbook from her favorite restaurant (alot of places do this now & you could also include a giftcard to the restaurant), spice collection (tastefully simple), etc.

I would maybe do a gift card… They may already have toasting flutes or cake cutting stuff… or get them a nice platter or cake dome with a gift receipt just in case they have one..

@captain plan-it: The wedding flutes and cake knife/server could be a very nice idea if it’s her style. Not to make a bigger deal out of it then it is but are they having cake and do they drink champagne?

Think of what kind of friend she is… does she love to cook? Get her the Joy of Cooking. Does she like to have drinks? Buy her beautiful Martini glasses (Pier One did have crackled glass ones that are really pretty) Think of things that she likes (or likes to do, would like to do)

If you are really stuck get her a Home Outfitters GC maybe.

Anything she can use on her honeymoon or to help start their new life together. Such as books on traveling to whereever they are going, cook books, lingerie, nice pajamas, something from her favorite stores, etc). Basically, what are her interests and what do you think she might need or want. For me I like useful gifts.

Most of the time people get a gift that the bride and groom can use in their home.  People forget that maybe the Bride needs something for herself.  Get her a massage or facial.  Since she isn’t in town do a bit of research on a good salon in her area.  Good luck

I would personally stay away from any wedding-related items and get more personal/household useful items!  I think I’d be kind of bummed if someone got me toasting flutes for the wedding, or a cake cutting set.

I agree with personal items (Lingerie, bath/body, spa gift cards)  or some nice cookware!  I know I’m always in need to some really nice skillets or woks!

I don’t think my MOH or MIL told anyone where I was registered.  I got a ton of cookbooks.  Honestly, I found it kind of annoying.  Like people were trying to tell me now that I’m getting married I better keep my husband well fed!  I don’t know, it just really irked me that I got a ton of cookbooks and nothing to cook with…

Things I would have liked to get:

A pretty ring holder

Fancy frame for a wedding picture

Gift certificate – sephora, bath and body works, victorias secret, spa

picnic basket

china storage set

fondue set
