I’m an encore bride. T is an encore groom to be.
We’re having alot of fun and this year, for the second winter, we’ve taken my son snow tubing. We also made an easter bunny gingerbread house last week all together and I can’t wait to create some unique easter baskets again this year for the kids! At Christmastime, we both love the ceramic Christmas village houses and are acquiring more.
These are but a few of the new things we’re doing as a couple to make our lives happier and cement that "bond" which will last our lifetime.
What new traditions as a couple have you two created together? If you’re an encore, what new traditions as a family coming together have you created?

I’ve got a post coming about this. We collect christmas ornaments from places we’ve been together, have themed Thanksgivings and have an annual end of summer party. 🙂

I wish we had more traditions, but every Valentines day we either order or go out for Chinese food (to the same place). Its a fun thing to look forward to.
Oh, and whenever we’re in FI’s home town, we get sandwhichs from Al’s Beef. haha – I love it!

We do Sushi on the day after Thanksgiving.

I never had a "real" mother’s day until we got together. He takes my daughter shopping to get me something pretty and in the morning, he sneaks out to get me coffee and brings in flowers. Father’s day is also pretty great with my daughter getting him anything from USC and us making a cake and a BBQ dinner.
Thinking about how we have made the holidays ours and how we have so many more to come makes me so excited and happy to start our lives "officially".

It really is amazing how everything is so new in this r. He’s by far more supportive than I dreamed any man (excluding my dad or grandpa) could be.
We faced a difficult issue that was overcome last week at my job. And his answer was one I didn’t expect. But it was the most supportive and loving one I could imagine. Loves me, us as we are.
Back on topic now…I think we’ll try the sushi after thanksgiving. Sushi rocks!
Every holiday is sweeter. And FutureMrsJ, yes Mother’s Day is definitely much sweeter now that he’s in the picture!

We have Thursday Night, Date Night! Every Thursday, no matter what is going on, we go out together alone…No brothers, sisters moms/dads, just us!
My fiance has a huge family that always gets together(multiple times a week) so its nice to be able to spend time with just the 2 of us!
Not much of a "tradition" but we look forward to it every week!

We have lazy Sundays…sleep in, do errands together, read the paper, watch a movie and cook dinner together…sometimes we get together with friends in the afternoon!

We have truly opened each other’s eyes to many many thing.
When we need to recharge we have lazy movie night. We have a stack of movies, bring ALL (I mean ALL) the blankets in house out to the living room, layer them on the LR floor and ALL the pillows (like 6!) and watch movis all night with popcorn and guilty snacks.
We splurge on one ornament each year for our Charlie Brown Mini Christmas Tree that used to belong to his grandma. There’s a beautiful purple heart shaped one for our first Christmas together, 2 Christmases ago when we adopted our puppy Rona we got her a ornament (dog bone with her name engraved) and last year we got a NFL Team ornament of our fav team.
And we get a shot glass from every where we travel to! We have quite a collection going!

We also do the Christmas ornament thing. Another quirky little tradition we have is to take photos of our feet together (sometimes bare, sometimes shod) to mark special places or events: Central Park, Balboa Park, a beach in the Bahamas, under the table at Thanksgiving dinner, the last game at the Orange Bowl, the hike we were on when he proposed, pretty much anywhere! It all started when we crossed the finish line together at my first marathon. :o)
