Is it unreasonable to sacrifice a huge portion of your budget to get a beautiful space? I found this gorgeous place (pic below), that allows outside catering (which I need), but just the space rental is 28% of my budget. Please talk me out of this, it probably looks worse in person anyway, right?

That’s a lot….. I’m sure it’s gorgeous (the pic doesn’t show) but you should probably keep your options open.

it’s beautiful! but it doesn’t hurt to keep looking, maybe you can find something pretty and more in your price range.

It depends – what does it include? Would you be willing to do a Friday wedding? Rentals are much cheaper on off-days.

It’s beautiful! It definitely depends on what all it would include. I’d say that you should keep looking, but if it’s a spot you’re completely in love with, you could probably make it work!

I am actually having a Sunday wedding! It’s for religious reasons, but I heard it’s also cheaper. From what the coordinator told me over email, the facility rental includes absolutely nothing, just the space. not even tables, chairs.
I’m def not set on it. Just really like the look of it 🙂

Oh it is beautiful!!! Our venue is 1/4 of our budget (my dress is 1/3!!!). I sure as heck won’t be the one to talk you out of it, both because I think it’s marvelous and because my expenditures are so far from the norm, percentage-wise. But of course it doesn’t hurt to keep looking, or try to haggle!

Oooh, that is way expensive if it doesn’t even include table rentals. Our rental fee is ~10% of our total budget and includes tables and chairs. It looks beautiful, but there are always more beautiful places!

Yeah that is a large chunk of your budget to spend on just the rental of the facility. Especially if that doesn’t include tables, chairs, etc. It does look like an absolutely gorgeous place, though. I would check it out (along with other places) and if you love it, see if you can cut costs in other places and make it work.

Try to negotiate since it’ll be a Sunday, but also keep options open. The more you are set on it and in case it doesn’t happen, it’s even more disappointing.
