I was hoping we would just skip it this year, but no. Mr. S has gifts for me as usual. Totally not something to complain about, I just haven’t given it much thought this year due to a move and crazy work schedule. Now it’s 2 weeks away and I need to time to ship it from WA to MO where he is currently stationed.
I went all out on his Christmas gift ($$$) and got him an olympic lifting barbell, clamps and bumper plates so I’m not sure there’s a lot of extra money laying around right now. Especially not while also planning a wedding! I need new ideas though – I don’t want every gift to be fitness or football themed but that pretty much sums up what he does in his spare time. Anything else he wants, he buys for himself. So frustrating!!

We are having a nice dinner out.. we do it every valentines day. He normally brings me flowers, and I give him a really long backrub .
With the wedding coming up, we don’t have a ton of extra money laying around to buy expensive gifts, but that’s okay with us.

@jenilynevette: See, that’s what I would love to do! But he’s stationed in another state currently so a nice date is out of the question. 🙁

Nothing ! We don’t celebrate it. We’ll have a romantic dinner at home as we do every week-end, but that’s pretty much it. 🙂

My FI is a snacker. Haha so I got him half a dozen valentines day Shari’s berries. And I got an okay deal for them too cause groupon $30 Shari’s berries gift certificate for $15. All in all I basically got free shipping. Cause it costs $15 to ship! But I know he will love them.

I have no idea. I didn’t want to do anything to be honest but he sent me something anyway. I don’t know what it could be because it’s from Afghanistan… lol
@Soon2BeMrsS: My SO isn’t near either so I really have no idea. We’re on the same boat

Thank you, Amazon. He’s unintenionally getting a beer themed gift. Hah! At home beer brewing kit, a 1000 piece beer label puzzle (cause we’re nerdy and like puzzles) and a wall mount “Man cave” bottle opener.

My FI just bought a DSLR camera, so I got him a cleaning kit for it that I know he wants. I’m also getting a big box of fancy truffles for us to share. Apparently he has something planned, but I like surprises, so I’m making sure I don’t find out what it is!

@MariContrary: I was drinking water when I got to your post, spit it out all over my desk! Love your enthusiasm! haha
I am just getting FI an inappropriately funny card and a 6 pack of beer!

Oh shit, Valentine’s Day is coming up.
This is my response to basically all major gift-giving occasions. I’m *terrible* at remembering. My FI’s birthday is in early February so maybe I can roll his birthday plans into a Valentine’s Day thing?

- Wedding: May 2014 - Madison, WI
He’s getting snowshoes from me. We’ve both been wanting them so we have something we can do outside in these winters, plus that weekend we’re taking a trip up north to visit some friends where I’m sure they’ll be put to good use. I just got myself a pair this week. Since we’re leaving on our weekend away on v-day, I might make him a nice dinner at home the night before.
