I don’t expect anything to change – as we own a house, share finances etc.

However, I have heard that there is an immense feeling of security even though nothing physically changes!

And hopefully – we will be expecting to expand our family soon after the wedding πŸ˜‰

I don’t expect a whole lot to change.  We’ve been living together for three years now.  I think the biggest thing may be the combining of assets and accounts.  Oh, and making babies πŸ˜›

Nothing will outwardly change. We already live together, and will be moving in to a new apartment sans roommates in about a year. We already share finances, although we don’t have a joint account and plan to get one.

But it will be nice to know that in case of an emergency, we will be able to see each other right away in the hospital, etc. I think that personally, we have already committed to each other but society doesn’t always treat couples outside of marriage as completely “valid.”

Not much for us either, except I’ll be able to get health insurance πŸ˜€

Unlike a lot of you, I think there will be several big changes for us.

1)I get a new visa! I’ll go from a not great work visa to a residence visa which will give me more freedom to work.

2) We don’t really live together, so we’ll see each other every night!

3) My position in his family will change meaning I will be expected to do a lot of work.

4) Much greater peace and security.

Not a lot has changed for us either.  I like being officially a family now though and that we are on all the same insurance policies and such.

Just the fact that we’ll be living together & we’ll start having sex! πŸ˜‰ It’ll be all official & it’ll be just us eating dinner or just us hanging out, without parents around

For us, getting engaged brought a lot of changes – moving in together, starting to share money, spending holidays together. I’ve been wondering if anything will change after the wedding. We won’t be looking to buy a house or have kids anytime soon, so it might be very similar, except for the whole changing-my-name thing.
