Weddingbee boards
Ok - so I saw this mentioned on another thread and now I'm curious what it is.
Can anyone explain to me what "Hello Bee" is?
Is it a part of / affiliated with WB? How is it different (aka why is the separate site needed/wanted)?
It is basically weddingbee for baby stuff. It is different because Bee and Mr.Bee sold weddingbee. So now they started a new website.
Hellobee is a pregnancy/parenting blog. The founder is Bee, who also started Weddingbee (which was later sold to eHarmony, then to Internet Brands). They have the same founder, but are not related.
Since Bee started both sites, are they pretty similar? Why not just use the baby section of WB?
@Mrs.KMM: HelloBee is beautiful in terms of graphic design. It's built the same way with forums, guides, etc. It's still in beta, so there's some growing kinks. Otherwise, I like it so far. I like seeing familiar faces and talking about TTC. I come to Weddingbee for my wedding fix and HelloBee for TTC support.

@Mrs.KMM: Because they're not owned by the same people. It would be like if the Knot decided to start using the Wedding Related boards here. (Or did you mean why don't posters just use the baby sections? I would imagine it's because Weddingbee is still a wedding site, that happens to have some users who have stayed on and talk about babies. Hellobee is entirely dedicated to that phase of life, and not weddings.)
@Mrs.KMM: I think Bee and MrBee wanted to make a whole site dedicated to just parenting. WB is a wedding site that has evolved to a wedding site with nesting boards on the side. The primary focus of WB is still weddings though.
Very interesting. I wonder if that's why WB has been a bit quieter lately.
I like HelloBee because the entire site is dedicated to topics that are related to babies, pregnancy and parenting. They have blogs about baby related issues, unlike weddingbee where the majority of the posts and blogs are wedding related. I basically post on both sites since Hellobee is still in its beta stage. I also have invites left so you can PM me if you need one, you can also request an invite directly on the website.
I also have invites - but if you request an invite, it took all of 3 minutes to receive mine. :)
I just requested an invite. Will I recognize all of you over there? Are you using the same names?
How do I get an invite? It would be nice to actually discuss baby/parenting instead of other things.
You can request one (which I did), got it in a few minutes, or have one of us use our invites.

I'm on there too even though we are a few years away from TTC. I really like the design of the site. It's a lot cleaner looking. Sometimes I'll lurk on the boards and occasionally I'll comment. I have a different name and different avatar on there because I didn't want the two to be connected.

I didn't know about Hello Bee. Awesome! I sent a request and received a reply almost immediately.

I totally didn't know about this! I just sent my request for an invitation. We are only TTC, but I'm already obsessed with all things baby!!
I have the same name too, and I actually went and made an avatar over there. Hmm, maybe I should do that here too...
@heathaah: I haven't figured out how to pick/upload an avatar yet over there. But I am Mrs.KMM so I should be semi-recognizable. :)

Same name, similar avatar. I also have invites if people want them!
I am also over there with the same name, just no avatar over there yet! Unsure if an engagement ring really makes sense on an all baby board!
HelloBee is so much better for TTC stuff! I personally find the TTC stuff on these boards a little distracting (but I don't mind).
Is it just baby/parenting stuff or does it have newlywed/house stuff, too?
I saw that you needed an invite and I thought it was a private, hush-hush club so I got intimidated and didn't request an invite, lol.
