I think I need to vent. I found my dream dress before I found the lovely Wedding Bee. Then after purchasing my glamorous Adorae, I discovered that about 42% of the world’s brides, too, found my same dream dress. I’ve been lurking on the bee for some months now, admiring all the beautiful women that share my fabulous dress taste and reading the comments that happily exclaim “hi dress twin!” I’ve wanted to join in the fun of the Adorae community, but deep down, I was a little disappointed that so many people had my same dress. So here I am 44 days from my wedding thinking that when the church doors open that some of my guests are going to say, “oh, that’s the dress that’s been on Say Yes to the Dress 37.5 times.” I mean seriously, am I just noticing it because it’s mine or is that dress really featured more than most in bridal mags, dj advertisements, friends weddings on facebook, etc., because I’ve seen that dress in all those places!?
So focusing on the positive, I must tell myself that no other dress made me feel so shapely, elegant, glamourous, bridelike, regal, and economically responsible as the Adorae and that she must have that effect on several other women as well. And since hardly any of my guests are in the wedding planning process, I have to assume that they are not on the Bee or watching all the episodes of SYTTD.
Anyone else love their dress, but wish it wasn’t so &*%!%$ popular?

I have seen that dress a lot too, and honestly, I think it looks AMAZING on pretty much everyone. I have never tried it on, but it just looks so darn flattering on everyone!
And plus, its not like someone else is gonna be at your wedding wearing that dress 😀

I don’t share the same issue, but I have noticed that the Adorae, Sabelle and a few others like VW’s tend to show up more than others…I think you just have to assume it’s because it’s a very well made dress that fits a lot of body types and styles. 🙂 Not a bad thing.
As far as your guests, I seriously doubt ANY of them will know very much about dresses, even if they are women. The only ones that might would be that very select group that watches wedding shows constantly (usually only women who are at that same stage in your life). I wouldn’t worry. 🙂 You have a beautiful dress, obviously because so many people choose it.
Congrats on your wedding being so close!

@angeebride:I have the same dress and YES. I also bought mine before I found Weddingbee, and funny enough my MOH saw it on SYTTD the SAME NIGHT I BOUGHT IT- so weird. I was pretty much wedding dress designer illiterate and could tell you nothing about popularity or brands before the bee.
I know EXACTLY how you feel. And it doesn’t help that my dress still has yet to come in (just mildly freaking about that) and I get to look at allll these other beautiful bees in “my” dress.
I guess there is so much good to be said for a dress that makes so many women feel and look so gorgeous on their biggest day.
And honestly, no one in that church will be thinking anything besides how beautiful you are. Promise.

It is popular because it is a beautiful dress that is flattering.
The only thing your guests are going to notice is that you look beautiful! None of them are going to have any idea how popular it is because they dont spend as much time in the wedding blogosphere that we do!!

Yes, its popular, yes its common, but that is because it looks FABULOUS on you. I am willing to bet that most people at you wedding will think how beautiful you look. NOT oh look its adorae… Live your moment.

Thanks. We’re somewhat in the same boat as I did not know exactly what I wanted whenI went shopping and after I tried it, I was done shopping I have no regrets, but I should have suspected something when 2 other brides in the salon were waiting for me to take it off! Randomly I just watched the episode online where Mrs Brooch was on the show and I could not believe 3 brides in the same episode tried it on! I guess I’m just anxious to put it on again!

I liked Adorae when i saw it online but i brushed it off since i saw how popular it was on wedding websites. But when i went to Klienfelds to try on dresses for the first time, my consultant insisted i try it on. And like everyone else…i fell in love. I still havent said yes, but the adorae is my top choice(i have dreams about it lol). Like everyone else said, im sure very few (if any) people at my wedding will recognize it, and even if they do they will be too blinded by my beauty to care.

It’s popular, but people that aren’t in the “bridal bubble” aren’t going to think “Oh that’s the Adorae, soooooo overdone” they are going to think “Wow the bride looks amazing!”

There is a reason it is so popular. IT’S A GORGEOUS DRESS!!!
You are no less special because you share your dress with others brides. People will not be thinking, “oh man that dress is overdone” when you step out in it, thats just in your head. They will only notice how fabulous and amazing you look.
It’s like flowers, how many times do you see Peonies and think, WOW. Unless you are an idential twin and she is wearing the same dress you will not look like any other bride. It may be the same dress but it is your dress on YOU and that makes it unique and special.

You are absolutely spot on about why it’s so popular with other brides. It makes a LOT of different girls look sexy, beautiful and shapely in all the right places! And like PP said, people outside of the wedding bubble won’t know that so many other brides have that same dress 🙂

Prior to getting engaged, I watched SYTTD every now and again. If I went to a wedding and saw one of those dresses, I wouldn’t recognize it.
The only guest likely to have a clue are brides-to-be or the very recently married. Other than that, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I agree with previous posters…it’s popular because it is a gorgeous dress and it seems to be flattering on so many different body types. I know how you feel though…my dress is fairly “popular” too…although not as much as Adorae. I just keep reminding myself that none of my guests are likely to have seen it since they’re not on weddingbee or googling my dress all the time like me lol.

Don’t worry. All that people will see is a beautiful dress on a beautiful bride.
Maybe a few folks might recognize the style but they certainly won’t say, “oh there’s that dress.”
I’ve been completely indulged in wedding planning and I don’t even think I would recognize the dress if I saw it.
Enjoy your day. You will look amazing!

Your guests totally aren’t going to know unless they are an engaged female and/or obsessed with wedding shows and pay SUPER attention. Your dress is beautiful, and keep in mind it looks different on each different person if that makes sense!
