So FH and I just bought a house. We love it and it’s perfect for us, but it’s on the smaller side at 1200sq feet. He has an absolutely amazing 56″ plasma TV that cost him $2500+ with the surround sound etc. We decided to use one of the bedrooms as a den/TV room since there are no good walls in the living room for a TV that big. I also have a very nice 36″ LCD flat screen. It’s just me and him so I think two TVs is enough. My TV goes in the bedroom.
Today he says to me “So how do you feel about another TV for the living room to go above the fireplace?”. I got mad, and maybe over reacted a little bit but I think this idea is completely ridiculous! We don’t even have a dining room table or anything other than a couch in the living room and he wants to buy another TV! Ugh.
I told him that I enjoy some peace and quiet sometimes and would like to have a room that is a “sanctuary” where we can read, relax, etc. He thinks we would never use the living room unless a TV is in there so he feels like it is a wasted room. We argued for a while but still didn’t come to a concensus. I think getting another TV, especially with a limited budget (hello, we are saving for a wedding now and still need basic furniture for the house!), is such a bad idea.
Maybe I just needed to vent. And I’m curious, what is the deal with men and their stupid TVs???
