I've finally found the dress I want to wear to my afterparty! It's fancier than I thought but I love it. But it comes in four colors, and I can't decide which one I want to buy!! Which one is most appropriate and rewearable??

Black: simple, chic. The little black dress that could...but is it appropriate after a wedding?? I'm supposed to be celebrating!

Ivory: classic, clean. I can wear this all wedding weekend, but can I ever wear it anywhere else??

Ruby: Sexy, dramatic. Great for 4th of July and Christmas. Stands out. Is this a color you can wear any time of year?

Sapphire: Unique, flattering. My wedding shoes are this color, and it compliments my skin tone/hair color. But can I wear this color any time of year or only 4th of July?

    Which one should I buy??

I like the sapphire! You can definitely wear it year-round, and it's great that it matches your wedding day shoes.

If you can do the ivory, go with it.  I'm sure you can find another occasion to wear it and IMO you should not have to give up the "bridal" look for even a moment of the wedding weekend.

I got an ivory dress for the after party, I figure I'll take it with me on the honeymoon.  I could also wear it for new years?  I vote Ivory :)

Any of them are wearable all year round (ok, maybe the ivory is only a 3 season dress :) ) I love the blue though, if it matches your colors and looks great on you, go for it!

I know people who own similar dresses to that in ivory (possibly even the same one), and they've looked awesome in it - and it wasn't even for their wedding weekend. Rock the ivory if you can. Otherwise, do red. It's sexy and it'll stand out.

I voted Ivory because you can definately wear it again, and it goes with the bridal theme of the night.  Black just doesn't have the same affect on the day of your wedding! Although I love black, for this occassion I would go with ivory!!

The Ivory dress looks so much richer than the others, and yes you can wear it again!

I wore a short ivory dress (the BCBG applique dress) for my rehearsal dinner and I have already worn it again once, to a nice dinner on our honeymoon. I got tons of compliments on it. I'm planning to wear it again next Saturday for V-Day dinner and add red heels. Ivory is totally wearable!

I picked ivory b/c it is your wedding night girl!  You can still be wearing a sorta wedding dress but be in party mode.

I just picked the ivory dress because you are a bride.  For a second I was going to pick the black because honestly it is the most rewearable since everyone needs a little black dress....hmmm now I'm thinking maybe you should pick the black.

I think black is the most rewearable but i like the ivory one the best.  My friend tried on the red one this weekend and it looks great on.  great choice!

A little black dress is a timeless classic. You can also add pizazz to it with various colored jewelry and shoes!!

I think this all depends on how often you go out to cocktail-level events! I'd wear the sapphire, personally, especially if you think it's flattering.

Then again, the ivory is lovely, and if you'd be willing to (I know I would!) you could always wear it to your rehearsal party the night before, then put it on again as your after party dress. I'm all about recycling! :)

DrDazey:  Oh, I never thought about wearing fun colored heels with it!  How bad is it if I bought two colors???  (See, weddings make you think crazy crazy thoughts!)

All of them are pretty good for all year round, I picked Ruby since it seems for festive, but it depends on what other dresses you have. (Like if you have all black dresses in your closet, it's time to get another color to mix it up)

@ipodgirl: I've been a tomboy my whole life, so I have 1 (ONE!) dress in my closet!  And it happens to be an ivory dress with black design on the skirt (which I wore to a wedding as a guest...because of course I didn't know about wedding ettiquette before I got to the reception and someone asked if I was leaving to change....yikes!!!!)  The point being, I have one dress, it is ivory, but I wanted a dress especially for my wedding weekend/honeymoon!

they are all very hot colors...I think the black would be most rewearable...but the ivory would def be most wearable for the wedding afterparty...but hey it's YOUR afterparty...wear what you think looks right for you. And maybe take some girlfriends or your bridesmaids to try this dress on and ask them. :)

I voted Black, but I changed my mind...Definitely Ivory!  It almost looks Champagne, so I think it would definitely be wearable again!
