Great post! Good luck on your to-do list... update us on your progress on Sept. 30!
I was just writing mine down in my planner: make sure our insurance will cover our reception at the venue, call a possible officiant, set the date. I can't believe I already have dresses for myself and my MOH, and not the exact date and venue pinned down (although we're close). Pick out fabric such as Amy Butler and calico to make wedding napkins for a post-wedding quilt, which will be my first DIY project I think. Move in with the fiance. Start grad school tomorrow.
I really only have two main things to do this month, which are to find a florist and to start work on STD design/printing/addressing. Other than that, it's just to keep on working on some DIY projects I've already started.
For september I would like to complete my card box and continue to shop around/possibly purchase my necklace and bracelet! Kinda a short list, but i feel like i have so much time!
This month, I need to order my dress and narrow down the choices for bridesmaids dresses. I would like to book our honeymoon flights soon as well. I also need to make some descions about the reception decor. And, we need to talk to our church's new priest about having the former priest perform our wedding. Hopefully that goes well.
Last weekend we got our cupcake stand about 75% completed, and will be finishing it this weekend. I also need to make our napkin rings, meet with and secure our DOC, get the bridesmaid's dress sizes and place the order for their dresses (they're already backordered until October 31st, so I need to get on that!). We are also planning to build our wedding arch, figure out who our officient will be, finalize what our table numbers will be, buy a white corset and start dress shopping.
With a camping trip coming up in two weeks, that's sounding like a lot of stuff!
Since I just sent out my DIY-STD magnets this week, that's off the list! All my bridesmaids have their dresses now too, yay!
For September... it's vendor month! I need to finish designing my cake & meet with the baker... find shoes to go with my Bridesmaid dresses... interview DJ's & pick one... interview officiants & pick one... interview photographers/videographers & pick one!
Oh! Start choreographing our surprise mother/daughter dance!... Anyone have any fun song ideas?
This month our to do list consists of STD's, florist, engagement photo session, and make a final decision on to have a DJ or not to have a DJ.
@disneybriide a surprise mother/daughter dance sounds amazingly fun! I could never get my mom to do any sort of dance. Are you doing a more upbeat song or something slower?
this month I need to work on the STD's, meet with DJ and sign contract, meet with florist, hopefully get bridesmaids to pick a dress they love (am picking designer, fabric and color). so far I have venue, photogrpaher, invitation deisgn and supplies, just ordered my dress YAY!, have flower girl basket, centerpieces.
1) Send the Save The Dates
2) Choose a Dress!
3) Find DJ options
Trying to leave some of the little stuff off the list right now, just cause i'm back to school part time and working full time and my schedule isn't quite set yet. I'm sure October and November will look like NUTS!!!
Doho...actually my post was supose to have been for September! LOL well everything I wrote in that one is my to do list for this month!
We have most of the "big" things done -- all our vendors chosen and I have my dress. So for September the big goals are:
- Work on invitations (this is all still very up in the air!)
- Start on our dance music playlist
- Figure out bridesmaids' attire
- Start getting together our childhood pictures for our table numbers
As for now I have all my vendors in place. I think :-) Bridesmaids dresses have been picked but not ordered. Flower Girls dresses have been ordered for 1 size up for both of them with ability to alter.
My dress has already been paid for and I have it in my closet. I still need to pick a veil.
When is it suggested that we send out our save the dates?
Also, we take our engagement photos in 2 weeks. Does anybody recommend any colors to stay away from for these photos?
So ladies....only 4 days left in the month! How are you coming with this months tasks? I only had a few things....
I did get a few extra things in the works....

I liked the August posts and I thought I'd see if anyone was interested in sharing their september plans. Seeing what you are all doing helps me to feel that this is all real as well as motivate me to get going on all the DIY plans. This month I am putting a deposit down on my gown, getting the BM and Flower girls measured and fitted into their dresses. We are also choosing our photographer and locating a supplier for our tablewear. This is indirectly related to the wedding but I have to clean and organize my basement as I will need the space for wedding stuff. Not quite as much fun but once its done then I will start my first DIY project.
