FI and I are having just a few friends over, but I love to host football parties!

I am making baked Jalapeno poppers, faux-fried chicken nuggets, a veggie platter with greek yogurt ranch dip, and I can't decide between oven baked french fries or oven baked potato chips

(I like to keep things healthy...)

Also I am making break-and-bake cookies lol

    What are you having tonight?

We are having my mom's BOMB chicken wings with her special recipe sauce, asian meatballs with ginger-chipotle dipping sauce, beer and deserts.  I've been so busy lately that I'm not even bring anything to the party.  Oh well...

I make a Bacon Explosion each year. I don't like meat, but Mr. Mink does, so this is a big treat for him.

I think it's gross, but the men all love it. I slice it and serve it on biscuits.

Step 1: Weave a bacon quilt

Step 2: Layer with spice rub, sausage, veggies, bbq sauce, and cheese

Step 3: Roll it up!  Cook it low and slow until the internal temp hits 165 or higher

    The disgusting result:

I insist on vegan dinners for the week after Mr. Mink eats this.

I made two pecan pies =P

It's actually my FFIL's birthday today- and he looooves my pecan pies, so my FMIL asked me to make some for tonight. She's doing all of the cooking, and I think she's making fried chicken, and some other munchy type things. Honestly, my ears closed after fried chicken. Cause, come on, it's fried chicken. It's delicous... lol

It's just the BF and I today. I picked up some wings from my favorite sports bar, and we have chips & guacamole and some veggies. We may not watch the game, but that won't stop us from eating all the good game day food!

@mink:  FI's eyes just lit up when I showed him that, lol. "We have to make one."

We're going to my parents - that is where we Super Bowl every year. USUALLY because our team is in it. :/ haha. Anyways. I know my step-dad is making his famous pigs n' a blanket, my mom is making Reasey pizza (delicious!!) and some cool kinds of salsa. I think there will be wings and pizza type stuff too. Mmm.

@mink:  OMG. Seriously, I am torn between showing my hubby your pics and not-- because I know he would beg me forever to make it, but it sounds sooooo unhealthy! WOW! That is like the manliest meal I have ever seen. Still in shock lol :)

Aso for us, we cheated and got a Take and Bake pizza from Papa Murphys, chocolate chip cookies, bbq smokies, and chips and dip. Enough to keep the man fed :) I'm prego and super tired this year, so hopefully next year I am more ambitious for our celebration!

We already ate my little snacks because we didn't want to wait. I made a black bean dip w/ tortialla chips, mini turkey smokies wrapped in reduced fat cresents, baked pizza mushrooms and veggies and dip. :) Delicious and healthy for the most part!

Hee Hee. Sorry to tempt you ladies. This is literally a once-a-year thing and Mr. Min only gets 1 slice at the Super Bowl party we go to. I wouldn't make it unless there would be a crowd there to make sure he only got a little bit. :)

@BayStateBride: yes, found it in pinterest :) http://www.closetcooking.com/2011/03/pizza-dip.html?m=1 We added a lot of garlic powder to the base cheese mixture, used a 6-cheese Italian mix instead of the individual grated stuff, and a lot of chopped pepperoni, way more than it calls for. It was so. Good.

    I made:

    Spinach and Artichoke dip

    Buffalo chicken balls

Teriyaki, and Parmesan garlic chicken wings

    Meatballs with marinara dipping sauce

and Shrimp and Chorizo quesadillas with a avocado sour cream dipping sauce.
