Okay so DH and I were talking about this last night. I told him that when we get a house (far future) I want to spend alot of money on the bathroom. We stayed in a suite for our honeymoon and the bathroom was my favorite part. I want an expensive tub. I love baths but renting and having “used” baths gross me out. Here’s the tub I would want:
P.s. I want it inground though. (is that how you say it? or ground level?)
So here is the question: If you could spend as much money as you wanted on ONE thing in your house, what would it be?

One thing only- a library! Straight outta Beaity & the Beast style…. I just love the smell of old books & would sit in a room full of them just for the calming soothing smell…. Weird I know, but my parents made sure I loved reading very early on & it never really left me (except for 4 years in college)….

Both DH and I want this! An aquarium so huge and tall it acts as a wall for a room. Something similar to the pics below:

My world is and always has been ruled by my pets, sooo… I’d have to say a big beautiful back yard! My dog is an escape artist and can easily clear a 6 ft privacy fence if it has the horizontal support beams on the inside (he run/jumps and uses it like a ladder), and one time I caught him right before he finished digging out as well. Ugh, beagles!
So, my ideal back yard would be about a half acre, with a 9ft board-on-board privacy fence, with the horizontal supports either on the outside or possibly sandwiched between another board on board vertical layer. There would also be a poured concrete base to prevent digging. On one side, near the house so that there’s still plenty of grass for the dogs, there would be a pool with attached hot tub as well, all protected by a fence/gate to protect kids/pets from swimming unsupervised. And lets throw in a nice patio for grilling and parties, while we’re at it 😉
On second thought, maybe a pure brick/stone/concrete wall would be longer lasting than wood… Hmmm! Haha. I feel like I have an inmate as a pet….

Swimming pool with a lazy river! It’s doable (someday), but really ridiculous for the area I live in (we could maybe use it 3 months of the year haha). Still, I told DH he should start digging… 😉

My needs are simple… I just want a puppy…

A soaking tub. Just a big deep tub to soak in. Doesn’t even need to be fancy, and I don’t like jets (although I saw one that had little bubbles, that was cool) they just make me itchy. Just something deep that I can soak in and have lots of bubbles.

Probably a whirlpool tub. I was going to say swimming pool, but where I live, it would only get used from mid-May – mid-September…so let’s go with what would get the most use :-). Ahhh…I can dream!

@Rachel631: haha IKR?! We just want a house so that we can have a dog!
Other than that…soaking tub. We’re looking at a house that’s older (approximately the same age as most of the other houses in this area) that really needs a lot of updating, but it has a HUGE master suite with a huge soaking tub (complete with skylight) and separate shower. The only bad thing is that both the tub and shower are blue…sigh. They can be refinished, but still. Blue? Unfortunately, that’s not the worst thing in the house lmao.

@BeckyS0: I am so with you!! We are hoping to really make the “wall full of books” thing happen when we get a house, even if we can’t dedicate a whole room to a library.

@vorpalette: I feel your pain. We are in the middle of buying a home that has a seafoam green bathroom. Not just tiles, but literaly the whole bathroom, including the tub. It’s also a duplex, and the upper bathroom in exactly the same, except pink. At least I don’t have to look at that one everyday! One day we will get the horrible 1970’s bathrooms out of our life, but until then I might convince him to invest in a can of tile paint.
Bathroom one would have a clawfoot tub in it, and lots of room! And bathroom two would have a whirlpool tub, and again, space. Also, one would have one of those showers that have water coming from everwhere, and are big enough for two people. I’ll put that one in bathroom one, and make it the master bath.

No, not really. A pool and a walk-in closet.
