Basically because it's somewhat of an inside joke with friends from our architecture program in college, the final countdown is always played whenever one of us gets married and it gets all of us on the dance floor :)
down here, nutbush city limits is the guaranteed get up no matter how old you are dance.... its kinda the law i think... sad, so very very sad

I am with Minutiae about the "Cotton Eyed Joe." I am from Texas and we LOVE that song!! Although I only listen to country I LOVE "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas!
Blame it on the boogie- Jackson 5, Guilty Pleasure by Cobra Starship, Snakes on a Plane, Cobra Starship, Wannabe by Spice Girls (yep, I had to add it- you all know you love it!) plus so many more.
I don't know if it gets everyone to DANCE, but Living On A Prayer ALWAYS gets them on the floor!
Footloose is a great one! And, of course, the chicken dance gets people onto the floor!

I always get super excited to dance to anything by Lady Gaga, lol. FI and I were actually just talking about that the other day - we want to have lots of her music at our reception because it makes both of us want to dance. :-)
