I know NOTHING about flowers. I have no idea how much is "too much" to pay...

    I want pink gerbera daisies...

    This is what I need...

    1 Bridal Bouquet

    2 Bridesmaid Bouquets

    1 Bouquet to throw

    Boutonnieres (8)

    Groom

    2 Groomsmen

    2 Dad’s

    3 Grandpa’s

    Corsages (7)

    2 Mom’s

    4 Grandma’s

    1 MC

I read somewhere that the flowers should be about a total of 8% of your total wedding. My total package, even including a 2 sofas & a coffee table, is about $4000.00.

Based on what you want, I would think that you could get all of that for under $1,000. My wedding was enormous, so I had 30 tables to put centerpieces on which jacked up my price. But, if you're not doing centerpieces, you should be relatively cheaper.

    Thanks!!

No, our venue is supplying center pieces for free.

I'm going to check the 3 florists in my (small) city and see who comes back the cheapest :-) I'll check back when I get my quotes!

Here's what I've learned from my research:

I think bouts are generally $8-$14

    Coursages are more like $14-$20

The bridal bouquet I think is usually around $100 (this really depends on the flowers and size).

BM bouquets would be like $75

I don't know about the tossing bouquet, I also don't know how expensive daisies are. I'd say you should be looking at $500 max.

I just booked my florist yesterday!

    What we're paying:

    • $100 for bridal bouquet, toss bouquet was FREE
    • $50/pp for BMs
    • $10/pp for corsages
    • $5/pp for bouts

Our total was about $775, with everything including our ceremony and reception flowers.

Wow that makes me feel A LOT better. We're in a fairly tight budget and I was worried flowers were going to cost a fortune but if it;s $500 or around there, I'm okay with that.

I think to cut costs, I might have the girls carry just 2 or 3 daisies with some nice ribbon or something. That shouldn't cost too much to do that... I hope anyways!

    OH 1 more questions...

How do florists like to be paid? Do you have to put a deposit down? Down for it all on the wedding day?

Sunshine, I completely understand! We're on a very strict budget too. Try little, local florists instead of big places. I got mine from a little mom and pop shop and they had very reasonable pricing.

My florist wanted a deposit of $250 when we booked. We paid more than that, with a check. We have until 15 days before the wedding to make any changes and get him the balance.

I live in a smaller city and there's only 3 florists plus the grocery stores who sell flowers. 1 of the shower shops in a franchise (Panada Flowers) and the other 2 are small individually owned. One of those 2 are REALLY expensive so I'm really hoping the other small one is reasonable.

Good to know! It's nice going in there knowing SOME info and not being completly clueless.

We are going the DIY route.  I am ordering 72 Large Ivory/Cream Garden Roses from fiftyflowers.com for $189.99, and 125 Ivory Roses from Costco for $99.99.

My aunt used to be an interior designer/florist, so she will be assisting in assembling all of the flowers.

    I am planning on using:

    Bride: 18 Garden Roses

6 Bridesmaids: 3 Garden Roses and 12 Roses

    12 Bouts: 1 Rose

    5 Corsages: 3 Roses

(20-25) Cocktail table centerpieces: 1 Large Garden Rose

    Just early planning ;)

We're shooting for Gerber Dasies under $1,000 and the florist said it's totally possible. We have more to our wedding party as well. Granted, we aren't doing any ceremony flowers but that's because my church doesn't display flowers during Lent.

I just purchased my I think that you will be fine on that budget. Seriously. I am having 4 corsages, 6 BM bouquets, 11 bouts. and 1 bridal bouquet. My Bouquet was 100 and my girls are 20 each. my bouts are 8.99 and the corsages are 14.99 I am also getting extra flowers and my toss was $10. Just a cheap small bunch. And my flowers were peonies and roses. Gerber daisies are even cheaper. I think you can aboslutely make it on that budget. Good luck!

I like to pretend that having a florist isn't a necessity, cause what I want is going to be INSANELY expensive.

Dear lord-my florist is charging us $500 alone for the delivery/setup/room turn and strike. It doesn't include one flower! lol.

Wow, flamingred $500 for no flowers even.  That's rough.  We got a quote for a bridal bouquet, 4 bm bouquets, 6 bouts, 2 corsages, and 12 table centerpieces for about 750.

I am using a lot of hydrangea and spider mums, because I love them!

@flamingred: our set up fee is ridiculous as well-$350! (after we argued it down from $400). ugh. And the flowers ain't cheap either. I don't even think I'm going for expensive, exotic flowers (hydrangea, roses, lisisantha), but it is SO expensive.

Those are insane prices for a room set up! Thankfully we're not doing center pieces or anything like that. Our venue (a hotel) provides a lot of the decorations, set up/take down, etc...

I think we lucked out from what I've heard from other people using hotels.

Basically the only decorations we need to bring is to decorate the arch that they supply and decorate the head table with tulle and mini lights. Everything else is included.

Based on the prices that I got from florists I would think that between $450 and $500 (+ tax & delivery) should get you all of those things.

Bridal bouquet of daisies- around $150 (florists here charge a lot because they know that you probably won't compromise on your bouquet

Bridesmaid's bouquets- probably between $45 and $65 each

*See if they will throw in the toss bouquet for free. Usually it's just leftover flowers anyway.

    Boutonierres- around $10 each

Corsages- mine were about $20 each

Sunshine, you should be fine. I just booked my florist last weekend. The price is typically driven by what type of flowers you choose and how much (and sometimes where you live).

Like you, our reception venue provides the centerpieces, etc., so we don't have to worry about providing flowers for the venue.

I am paying  $550.00 total for: my bride bouquet (I'm not doing a toss), 2 BM bouquets, 7 bouts, and 3 corsages. I chose picasso calla lillies and roses, which are generally on the expensive side.

You are fortunate- gerbera daisies are pretty much the least expensive flower you can buy, because they were once considered a "weed." They have since become very popular for weddings- especially the more colorful ones like the ones you want. One of my college roommates got married, and I was in the wedding, and we all carried the white daisies. They are her favorite flower. The florist was annoyed with her because she only wanted to have daisies, and did not want other more expensive flowers, because daisies were always her fave. She got married in May on a beautiful spring day, and all the bridesmaids wore pale yellow dresses. We all had the daisies, the pics looked fantastic, and she got a lot of flowers on a small budget.

    Let us know what happens!

    So here's the scoop...

The quote I got from 1 place was $493 plus $25 if I want a small bouquet to toss.

It was $150 for my bouquet

    $30 for each bridesmaid (3 gerbera's each)

I can't exactly remember the rest of the prices right now. But I thought that was a decent price. FI thought it should be a lot cheaper lol.

I went to 2 other places but they said I needed to come back for a consultation but I haven't made an appointment yet for them.

We ordered 1 bridal bouquet ($90), 6 BM bouquets ($45 each), 11 boutonnieres ($10 each), 4 corsages ($15 each) and 2 flower girl bouquets ($7 each) and it all ended up under $500.  We did a lot of Hypericum Berries and Mums.  My bouquet will have some roses and hydrangea.  I am not sure how much gerber daisys costs but our grocery store florist said the roses and mums cost about $3 per stem.  I would think Daisys would be about the same or a littler higher.

Gerberas are usually pretty affordable though.

We're spending a LOT on flowers.  it's the one place we're over budget.

We're having simple rose bouquets and my florist quoted me $500 for brides bouquet, 6 bridesmaids, 2 flowergirls, 12 bouts, 4 corsages, toss bouquet, aisle runner, and two rented altar displays.

I had to put down a deposit of $50 six months prior to the wedding to hold the date. The remaining balance is due two weeks prior to the wedding.

I'm off to get a 2nd quote today after work from a different florist. Whicheven one comes out cheaper, is the one we'll go with. I have a feeling the first place will be cheaper. The one I'm going to today is a franchise.

2nd flower shop (a franchise) was quite a bit more. Their quote came to $623 when the other place was $493 + $25 for a throw away bouquet if I want one.

    We're paying.... Bridal Bouquet $100, Bridesmaids Bouquets $40, Bouts $14, Corsages $25, Centerpieces $60

But alot of it depends on your flowers, if they're in season, your location, etc. etc.

Ours is about 1300 with bridal, bridesmaids, groom, groomsmen, moms, dads, and centerpieces...we did great! :) And my bridesmaids will be carrying calla lilies and they are expensive! Sounds like you got two good prices too Sunshine

    I got a quote for:

1 bridal bouquet, 5 maids bouquets, 9 boutonnieres, 5 corsages, 10 tall centerpieces, 10 short centerpieces, 2 ceremony arrangements which will be moved to the reception site, flowers for our cake, and a tiny arrangement for our guestbook table and my quote was $3600.

I nearly died. I made some changes to a few things (still getting all the pieces mentioned but slightly less ornate) and got it down to $2500. But I'm still working on making it under $2000 because even that seems NUTS to me for flowers.

    Hello all,

I just wanted to see what you guys thought about the price my florist gave me. Feeling a little uneasy, I guess I just didn't expect it to be this much. For $800.00:

    my bouquet

    5 bridesmaids bouquets

10 boutenniers (groomsmen, two ring bearers, and 3 grandpas)

30 centerpieces (but I already purchased the mason jars)

    3 birdcages with flowers inside

    3 corsages
