So we just had a interview with a husband/wife team Photographers in Atlanta, they seem awesome, pics are great, creative and nice! They are giving us an awesome rate for unlimited hours on our wedding day. We really like them but they said the won’t get our pictures on a DVD for 6 months. 6 MONTHS is a long time!!
They blog very frequently, they say we will get out pics on their blog withint 1-2 weeks, full gallery online view within 4-6 weeks but our CD won’t be available until 6 months. Now, why the hell does it take that long? I mean know know how busy it can get but 6 months is insane…I can’t help but to think that’s just a ploy to get people to pay for their pictures, by 6 months, I would be too impatience and bought every pic I wanted LOL…right? What do you think? Worth it or too long?

i’m not sure why it takes that long. the only reason that came to mind is perhaps they want to lure people can’t wait for that long into purchasing those photos from their website?
my photographer said he’s done editing my wedding photos and will mail out the CD tomorrow. my friend who got married 3 weeks before me got hers from another photographer around the same time frame (4~5 weeks after the wedding).

@Asia_Leone: That seems REALLY long. All of our photos were online for us to view within 4 days of our wedding. Our photo CDs got to us exactly one month after our wedding which I thought was an appropriate amount of time. I know Ive seen some of the bee bloggers as well as members of the hive that have waited several months for their CDs (maybe 3-4 months) but 6 months seems absurd! If they are taking 6 months those better be the best pictures you have ever seen and edited SO well. I would definitely inquire further about this. That means you wont be able to make any prints (unless you pay for them) or post them on facebook if you want or send to friends/family or start on your album until 6 months out and that just seems like a really long time.

I’ve heard anywhere for like 2 months to some friends of friends had to wait a year! I’m not really sure what the standard is, but I think we’ll be waiting like 5 months.

6 months is a long time to wait for pictures. I think our photographer told us about a month, but I’m hoping its not even that long.

We were told 6 weeks… 6 months does seem way too long, I’m not sure why it would take that long!

I was told 2 weeks. My photographer refuses to blog a wedding until the CD is out to the bride and groom. Priorities. 6 months is forever!

Our photog has a 4 week turnaround time. But it sounds like your photog really does want you to cave and buy prints from them. There’s no other logical reason for it to take that long. Did you realize the time frame when you signed with them?

My photog doesn’t release the CD with images until 1 year after album completion which is a ploy to force people to buy images from his website which are ridiculously expensive. if he wasn’t such an amazing photographer, I would be really pissed about it.

Ours were to us on DVDs a week after the wedding. They were up on the website a few days before that.

I tried asking them about this 6 months deal and basically in a professional way, it was to encourage people to buy the images. Kinda annoys me because what if no one buys the images online, I’m just stucked waiting for 6 long months and no one benefits. Sooo annoying…but they do unlimited hours, 2 photograpgers and the price is within our budget. What do you guys think of their work???

We were told 6-8 weeks for them to be ready to view online. They must be editing, as they just sent our first teaser this week.
