I am doing my own makeup for my wedding and I currently use something that only lasts a couple hours… it sucks… so any tips? I’m thinking about trying bareminerals because everyone I know loves it but I’m iffy.

Estée lauder double wear.. You need a crowbar to get the stuff off!

You need to pick something that will work with your skin type. If you’re super oily, clearly a heavy duty, thick foundation will not work for you.
Check out http://www.beautypedia.com. They have product reviews and you can sort by skin type!

I love Chanel foundations. A great one that lasts for hours and gives your face a beautiful glow is “Vitalumiére”. I adore it!

HD Make up Forever, hands down.

I like the Face and Body formulas from MAC or Make Up Forever. Extremely natural finishes, but long lasting.

It is cheap, I am the biggest fuss pot and I love it.
Revlon Colorstay for the win.

I’m really liking the naked foundation by Urban Decay. Makeup seriously melts off my face but this lasts pretty darn well

@rachattackbear: my personal thoughts on bare minerals foundation are that the coverage is minimal and it doesn’t stay on, but i do know people who like it. after years of trying various products, i discovered studio tech from MAC and i’ve now used it for 6 or 7 years. coverage is awesome without being too heavy and i have oily skin. i also recently started using the IT celebration foundation powder from QVC over it for a little extra coverage in prep for my wedding day look. a bit heavier, but i think it’s going to be awesome coverage for photos.

I do like Bare Minerals, but I wouldn’t say it’s a particularly long lasting foundation. It really depends on your particular skin type….one person may love one foundation and another will hate it.
As far as foundations that I’ve consistently heard are long-wearing: Revlon Colorstay or Colorstay Whipped, Mac Prolong Wear, Estee Lauder Double Wear, Kat von D Lock it, Lancome Teint Idole 24h, Makeup Forever Mat Velvet, Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1.

i find using a good quality primer helps too.

What I did was go round a department store and collect loads of samples and test each one for a day at work to see what was going to last the best. It was really worth doing as some which were really expensive and meant to be long lasting actually didn’t stay on me at all (Chanel, yuk).

Revlon Colorstay, for sure! Plus you can’t beat the price.
