FI and I were shopping for wedding bands for him. He wants: black, tungsten, flat (not rounded), 8 or 9 mm.
What is the difference (besides price obviously) bewteen these two?
Are there certain grades of tungsten carbide? Just paying for it to come from a store? Help!

Absolutely nothing. Your paying to say “we got it at Kay”. We too were lookin at tungsten rings and ended up getting it from amazon for $9.99. It was perfect and he loves it. We brought it to the jewelers and they thought we got it for $100+

@zonabee: I got DH’s ring on Amazon for a similar price. We’ve been married 5 years and he still loves it! When he lost 100 pounds, we even got him a few sizes smaller and it was no big deal 🙂

Nothing! Price! We got my husbands tungsten band on Amazon for $225 CHEAPER than Shane Co. Same ring. He loves it! Well, he actually has 3 of the same ring, LOL. His hands swell more than anyone I know. Good Luck!

Tungsten is pretty inexpensive but if you get it at a jewelry store the price will be jacked up. They do it because they can. People will pay the price and not think anything of it because they are in a fancy jewelry store.

We bought my husband’s tungsten ring on Amazon. We had been at the local jewelers where the same ring was $225, plus they would have to special order his size. If we placed a rush order, we could get it in a week. Instead, we went home & ordered it on Amazon for $19.99. With shipping, we paid $29 & had it in 2 days, lol!!! He has had so many compliments on his ring!
