I registered for, and received, a really cool hanging photo frame that holds four pictures… and it’s WAY smaller than it looked online, plus the way it’s shaped, you have to hang it in two areas and I’ll be damned if I can’t get it straight!!

It’s sitting in a closet.

That’s a great question! I registered for a set of measuring spoons and measuring cups.  They looked nice, and I decided I wanted the metal ones rather than plastic.  Big mistake–the ones I picked online are awful!  The one cup bent as soon as I tried to scoop flour with it.  It’s not the end of the world, but every time I use it, I feel stupid for not looking at it in person first.

As for best: I think the thing I have found to be infinitely more useful than I expected was my 10 piece pyrex set with lids.  I never expected to use the lids but they are so damn handy!

Yes! I agree, my Pyrex were the best – and the belgian waffle maker. I really love my angled measuring cup that has the measurements on the inside, as well!

@ laylabelle- do you have the OXO angled measuring cup? That’s the only angled one I’ve seen and I’ve been thinking about getting one, but I don’t love the fact that it’s plastic.

@Rainbow – yup, that’s it! I have a large one and a small one, and I LOVE them. My husband doesn’t care for them and so we still have a glass one too. I just think it makes everything easier, since you measure from the top.

We registered for a digital meat thermometer with a remote display and an alarm from Williams-Sonoma… it broke within a couple of uses! If I’d looked at it carefully, I would’ve spotted the design problem: the little handle of the probe was plastic, and it melted, which made the wiring all wonky.

Fortunately, W-S has a good return policy and took it back, and we were able to get an All-Clad one that is way better.

I also registered for a vase that was *way* huger than I expected… there’s no way we’ll be able to use it until we get a bigger place, and maybe a garden – seriously, you would need 2-3 big store-bought bouquets to make this thing look good.

We ended up getting a ton of really gorgeous bowls that weren’t on our registry.  I love them all, but if I had realized just how many we’d get, I would not have registered for the serving bowls that go along with our dishes.  I could have easily picked them up myself after the wedding if we were still short on bowls.

Hmm.. that’s a good question. I am actually going to do another cleaning out of our registry soon since we kind of just put anything/everything we could think of on there.

i’m very practical when it comes to our registry. only things we really NEED, because we need so much! (except the wii and wii fit i just let my fi add on yesturday!). the one thing i’m not too crazy about is our fancy table cloth, i let my fi pick it out because i felt like i was making all of the decisions. and now we’ll have an ugly table cloth. i’m still thinking about if i want to change it.

Worst were these bowls that were not on our registry from a place we didn’t even register at.  They were fugy.  And expensive.  We returned them.
