My cats love our christmas tree, they don't eat it or anything (that would be bad) but they love to sleep under it and drink the water out of the stand.

Our cats are indoor outdoor cats and one of them usually like to stay outside most of the time, but the minute we get a christmas tree they are both inside sitting next to it waiting until they can lay under it!

Here's Stoli right when we got it in the stand, no lights or anything on it yet, we hadn't even vaccumed up the pine needles!

And one of both the boys under it a couple years ago:

Anyone else's kitty(ies) love the christmas tree?!

@o0olibelulao0o: My new kitten does!  Unfortunately, her love isn't as harmless - she loves batting at the ornaments LOL.  The fact that it is adjacent to her favorite windowsill is not helping either!

But she is so cute I can't stay mad at her :)

Our foster kitty lived outside for a while before we got her, but is now strictly an indoor cat.  She has been climbing our tree!  Our cat just likes to lay quietly under it, but Minx wants to be INSIDE of it.  She is super fast, too...she runs up by the "trunk", hops on to where the "branches" are inserted, then weaves her way around and up like she's going up a spiral staircase.  Needless to say, this year we only put up unbreakable ornaments!  I need to try to get a picture.

Hahaha mine is constantly drinking the water and messing up the tree skirt. She's nuts!

You're all lucky your cats are so benign! My first cat used to poop under the christmas tree: I'm not sure whether she was trying to tell us something or she thought she was outside!

My cat has his front claws, and I can't put up a tree with him anymore.  He climbs it and lays in the branches.  I had a picture from a few years ago with just his head poking out - he looked like an ornament.

I have no idea why cats love it so much! My parents' cat spend most of December just hanging out in their tree. Luckily they went for shatterproof plastic bulbs, lol.

I've had my cat for 14 years (since I was 15). When we lived at my parent's house, each year she'd knock the tree over at least once trying to climb it. She can't get into the one my DH and I have now, b/c it's artificial and too small to hold her, plus w/ her age she doesn't really care too much about batting ornaments. She just hangs out under it. When my brother would bring his cat home with him over x-mas, she lived in the tree the whole week, until we unwrapped her 'present'- a new cat bed :)

Not sure either.  My cat LOVES to lay under it and bat ornaments.  She's only tried to climb it twice.  She was VERY upset when I took it down yesterday.  Kept pacing back and forth meowing as if to say "Mommy what have you done with my tree?"

And my cat also likes the tree although she's been good this year and there are no kitty sized holes in it.

Don't even let me get started on how frustrated we were this year by our cat and the tree! Last year he was totally fine, occasionally would bat at ornaments but otherwise great. This year, it was like a completely different cat! This year, he was biting the branches and climbing up in the tree. SO FRUSTRATING! He loves water (he showers with us!) so that didn't work at all.

We eventually just gave up, and put the tree in our bedroom.

Now that the presents are gone from under the tree, our kitty likes to hide under there. You can just see her face through the brances! FI thinks we should keep the tree up for awhile, but it makes me nervous she's going to tip it over! She batted a bunch of ornaments off the bottom branches, which I didn't mind since they were from Target etc. Plus, she's so cute I just let her get away with it.

Our kitten Sunny LOVED ours! I seriously got so p/o'd I put it out during the day and part of the night and then hid it in our daughters closet while we were sleeping bc I couldnt handle all the rustling and her destroying my decorations! Ugghhh! She kept climbing up it and broke 2 bottom branches:( Its fake but still...

Mine did! When I pulled out the tree skirt this year it was covered in kitty fur. She passed away this past spring, I do miss her!

No ornaments or lights, but the kitty is present!

She looks a bit evil in this one, but it was too cute to not take a picture. One thing I liked about a fake tree was that I could fold over the ends of the branches to secure ornaments that I really didn't want knocked down.

My cats haven't really noticed our Christmas tree, maybe because it's really small and fake?

My puppy on the other hand, loves it. He sleeps behind it daily. DH and I still haven't taken it down because the pup likes it so much.

My cats believe that a christmas tree is a giant cat toy, covered with lots of dangling little cat toys. There is no changing their minds on that. I just put the breakable ornaments close to the top and weigh the base down good to keep them from knocking it over.
