Dress and guest list. I’m sooo overwhelmed by all of the styles, and I’m trying to keep the guest list as low as possible (like…. 65 – including bridal party)- but who to cut? AHH!

Strangely my invites have been giving me the most headaches. I’m just finding it impossoble to find something I like that we can actually afford. I have lots of ppl willing to help me design them, but then finding a printer is a whole other story.

Bridesmaids are a close second on my list though…. 😉

Bridesmaids….My MOH is my sister.  She is not 21 so is all depressed and says she is intimidated that she is the youngest.  One is very vocal about any decision I make.  One is quiet and jsut goes with whatever which is great, but nicely states her opinions too.  And the last one is my fiances sister.  She takes over a week to reply to anything and when she does reply she doesnt even address the question she asked.

My bridesmaids! I have four and two are my sisters. They are being awful and not doing anything to help. They were so excited when we first got engaged and I told them they would be in the wedding. I’ve been after them for since September to pick out a dress. They know the color but won’t do it. I’m getting very discouraged. Not getting much support from my mom either. Frown

So far I haven’t had any major headaches. Though our invites arrived today, and I have a feeling that stuffing those babies are going to be a major PIMA. I am not looking forward to that.

The honeymoon WAS but we finally have that squared away.

Now, it’s the STDs and invites.

So far music! My FI is a music snob. I mean I am one too but he is extremely difficult.

So far it’s the wannabe-bridesmaid. This girl is married to FI’s good friend and since her husband is a groomsman (will probably be best man, actually) she thinks that gives her an automatic “in” to the bridal party. She keeps trying to weasel her way into it. She’ll offer to help in some aspect of the wedding, I’ll say, “Oh, that would be nice, thank you,” and then it’s, “So that makes me a bridesmaid, right?” Arrrghh.

So far, it’s the catering. It’s the one thing we can’t seem to find in a sensible budget. So unless a miracle happens, we will be having just our meat catered, and then cold sides, like potato salad and such, which much of my family will help to make, bless their hearts.

Wow I had to laugh at this thread. You ladies are funny. I have to say our (FI can share this headache with me he’s been amazing in this process) headache really has been keeping the guestlist at 150. I thought we were fine, until like a week ago when people I thought were “single” and didn’t need to bring a guest because they know half the people coming, are in the wedding party, or are FAMILY, say things like “I think I will bring so and so as my plus 1….”…Ummmmm Wow I guess we completely screwed that up and should have thought about single people assuming they get to bring a guest just to bring someone. So that right there added like 10 people if they all bring someone. We invited 173. So far we only know of about 10 that aren’t coming. SOOOOOOO I sure hope we get a few more No’s or else we will be stuck paying an extra $55 per person:(

I must say my Bridesmaids have been absolutely fabulous. I have 2 MOH (my cousin and my 16 year old sister because dad said she should have been my MOH even though she is only 16 and can’t really plan anything, pay for anything, or really understand what the responsibilities of a MOH is), my FSIL, and 4 Great friends. They have seriously been amazing and I couldn’t have asked for better girls. I definitely can’t complain about them at all:)

Right now it’s my clothes. I’m not really going the usual “white dress” route — in this case, a black and white corset and a black and white edwardian skirt.

The skirt has been found and purchased and should come to me in the next month or so. 😀 Excite!

The corset, on the other hand… I found the perfect thing, only to suddenly have some issue with my credit card (it’s got plenty of available fundage, and I literally bought the skirt with it moments prior) that I have to sort out. I just hope I don’t lose my awesome deal on the PERFECT mate for my perfect skirt.

So I’m stressing about that right now.

(There was a headache last fall about cutting my future in-laws out of the planning and doing what WE want, and just paying ourselves, ’cause they were driving us nuts but that was resolved well and seems like a million years ago now.)
