When I have people come over to my home, I always get compliments on how clean it is. Though at times things get a little out of order, it never gets any further than that. Growing up I was trained early on how to be a domestic queen, with cleaning being my greatest domestic super-power.
Though I am a a full-time student and have a job, I can never not clean, especially vacuuming because I hate seeing hair, crumbs or dirt on the floor. (Sticks to your feet. Yuck.) I love deep cleaning at least once a week, which includes dusting, polishing, mopping, scrubbing, etc. Greatest thing is my Darling Husband even helps out. We both enjoy the feeling of a clean house.
Any other cleaning lovers out there?

I wish I could be like you. I grew up in conditions close to what you see on hoarders (mess wise, not dirty wise – my family just didn’t know how to get rid of anything, but dishes got washed and stuff so it wasn’t gross, just messy), and never really learned how to keep things clean. I learned a lot living with roommates in college, and I’d say Fiance and I do a pretty good job with our place. It’s a bit on the messy side, but we keep on top of the mess and have weekly assigned chores (he does the bathroom, I do the kitchen and we split the bedroom + living room).

I’m a fantastic deep cleaner when I have time on the weekends but awful at the daily tasks that get so repetitive… clean the dishes every. day. (and we cook a lot so they’re always messy), pick up the apt, do the laundry. Blegh.

I voted “what’s cleaning” haha. I do like a clean house but we let it get out of control sometimes. We both are gone from 6am – 7pm so between dinner/working out cleaning is not a super high priority.
How is three times a week “occasional” cleaning?

I go through phases. First I’m a cleaning maniac, and then I wear myself out and hate the idea of having to clean. Kind of like this.

I keep my house clean, but not spotless. We have a problem with clutter LOL Mostly mail that piles up on the counter. I think that’s my biggest pet peeve, but it is what it is.

I fall somewhere between daily spot, and once a week. Certain areas get attention every day, others only once a week.

I clean daily, dishes, scrubbing the floor, putting things away. I tend to mostly slack on the laundry because I hate it. I need to keep our home clean though, we have 2 cats and a little kid, so I refuse to let it get gross. I hate when my husband leaves trash lying around, or dishes everywhere!

@MissBoPeep: Hahaha! Yes! That’s me from time to time, too!

I looked at it as occasional cleaning because there are seven whole days in a week, lol. You’ve gotta remember though, I’m a little biased. 😉

I put away things, do laundry, wash dishes, unload dishwasher, etc as needed regardless of the day. I do a deep cleaning once a week, usually on a Friday or Saturday. Deep cleaning = dusting, vacuuming, bathrooms, windows/mirrors, etc.

@MissBoPeep: that is me! I also have self diagnosed myself with cleaning ADD. Its so bad! I’ll take something off the table to the office, and then I’ll see something that needs to be done in there, start that, then realize something needs to go into another room. so I take it in there and do something in there…fast forward and hour,a nd you can’t tell I did anything!
Ugh, hubs and I both hate cleaning, so as soon as we can afford it, we are hiring my friends company to clean our house!

I’m a sort of once a week or so cleaner.
I HATE cleaning, but once it’s done I love having a clean apartment.
I cleaned today and I’m so happy I did, but I just know Darling Husband is going to come home and the counters will be covered in papers again and tomorrow it’ll look like I never cleaned. So then I lose motivation for a week until I have to say f* it and clean everything again.
I think once I get a job we may just have someone come once a week to do the bathrooms, vacuuming, etc. But while I’m not working, that all falls on me.

I try to keep things picked up and organized every day. But I don’t vacuum, dust, mop, etc more than every couple of weeks.
