Speech language pathology, you have to have a master’s (which I got into today!) but I love it and has lots of opportunities!

My major was civil engineering with a focus in environmental engineering. I do work in the civil engineering field, however, my job has a structural focus instead of an environmental focus.

sfigu16: I’m graduating with my bachelor’s in May then starting grad school in the summer. I graduated in three years after switching majors twice! My classes and professors were great and I loved working in the clinic. There’s a lot of options and settings to work in so you can really do anything. I don’t have too much real work experience with it, but in the clinic I work with people of all ages 2-elderly for all sorts of disorders.

sfigu16:  What are some things you’re interested in or excel at? Do you like to work with people?

I got my undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering. If you’re good at math and like science and working with people and learning about biology/the human body then I highly recommend it!

sfigu16:  I majored in psychology and had a minor in child and family studies. I currently work in human services, so I definitely work in my field (psychology is a HUGE field). I love helping people, so that was my “field” idea. Loved every second of my psychology major.

I was a double major in biology and environmental science, with nearly a major in chemistry as well. I am now working on my master’s in Environment and Resources (thesis based for both degrees).  I’ve worked for the WDNR and loved it – I’m going back this summer, and hope to go back after my master’s. I love outdoors work and especially lakes. A large part of my job is snorkeling!

ETA: another large part of what I do is working directly with the community to form outreach programs, train volunteers, etc. It’s the second best part of the job!

sfigu16: I majored in communications with a focus in public relations. Then, I went to grad school for elem. ed and got my masters. I’m a teacher currently. I would reccommend doing a lot of internships in different areas that you may be interested in so you can figure out what you enjoy doing.
