I don’t think 4 weeks is too early. Our wedding is 5/17 and we made the RSVP date 4/1. I did like the idea of having the RSVP on the first of the month b/c it’s easier to remember. Ours is a destination wedding so we decided to go with 6 weeks.

BTW, I ordered from WPD during their 25% off sale too. I just got the invites recently and I love them! They do great work. They also allowed me to edit my proof a bunch of times without getting annoyed at me, haha 🙂

I made ours 4/1/14, it’s 6 weeks ahead of time but I thought the first was easy to remember too but felt 5/1 would be a little too close to our deadline. Plus we have a lot of out of town guests to plan for and I wanted plenty of time to track down any no replies.

@Merlin29:  Date twins!  I haven’t even begun to think about stationary.  But this gives me some basis to go off of!  I think the first sounds good.

I’m considering April 12 for my May 3 wedding, but may want to move it up a bit, just so that I have time to chase down non-RSVPers.

@Merlin29:  my deadline for RSVP was a month before the wedding.

Call me crazy but I wanted to have that headcount and do that seating arrangement asap.

A lot of people give an RSVP date of 2 week or 3 weeks before the wedding.

@Ms_Purple:  If you don’t mind me asking, when are you sending your invitations? My wedding is on 5/17 as well so I’m curious!

@futuremrsslp:  I’m planning on sending them at 3 months out. So, around February 17th. We have lots of out of town guests (though most are within 100 miles) and a few international guests so I wanted to make sure everyone has the information with plently of time to make their final plans.

@futuremrsslp:  Hi date twins!  Our RSVP date is 4/18 and I’m planning on sending them out around 3/15 – so about 8 weeks out and then 4 weeks out for RSVPs.

@MsYankee:

@Ms_Purple:

Yay date twins! Thank you both for replying 🙂 I’m tempted to send them out a little bit earlier because I have some out of town guests. But I think they may have already made arrangments. I’m thinking maybe March 1st to send them.

I’m surprised with the later RSVP date deadlines.  We are going for I think around 50 days before the wedding since we have to have final numbers to our caterer and our cake person 30 days in advance.  That gives me a few weeks to get in touch with any stragglers and get things done before the 30 day deadline. Like @Ms_Purple:  I think we will send out in February.
