Just for fun.
I started out majoring in music, then was forced to switch to Linguistics. I have too many credit hours that I’m close to hitting the cut-off requiring me to pay out of state tuition, so I need to graduate faster. To do this, I’m changing majors again to Interdisciplinary Sciences with Music, Linguistics, and Anthropology.
If you’ve already gradutated, did you go to get an advanced degree? Do you use your degree for your current job?

@HonoraryNerd: OH ANTHRO BEE HOW I LOVE THEE!!
I found my love in Anthro..I have my AA in History, then found myself at my university in love with Anthro and got my BA in it.
Do I use it?
Multiple times a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO IT DO IT!
I feel like I can sell myself to employers on the following:
1) I understand people and culture enough to relate to them and lead them/inspire them.
2) I understand language enough with different groups of people in order to relate to all different types of people (NOT RACES)….in order to inspire and motivate.
3) I have been exposed enough to different cultures to travel anywhere in the world and understand basic romantic languages/communication skills to build rapport and sell a product.
4) My idol is Indiana Jones (j/k…..but seriously…)
OH my goodness!! I love Anthro. Got my degree in it, use it every day…LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! PM me…I can give you MANY more ideas here. DO IT DO IT DO IT.

I work in insurance and we deal with people from around the country..sometimes around the world.
It’s awesome to already have the WANT to deal with everyone, everywhere…much less be taught official ‘skills’ in the classroom that could help you in customer service AND your career!!

@aliavenue: I am a first year in the doctoral program, though I already did a three-year Masters, so I feel like I’ve been in grad school forever! I love it!! It is so wonderful to study and teach what I love. I don’t always get as much sleep and exercise as I’d like, but overall, I’m really happy! How about you?
