Brush morning and night, and floss at night. Every other person I know however, does not floss, except sometimes the week before their dental appointment.

ArcadiaRose:  After I made flossing a habit, my teeth still feel dirty if I don’t do it. I’m not sure if this is all in my head or not, lol.

Brush morning and night. I floss but after meals, I have the floss sticks at my deSk at work and usually after lunch I floss. Sometimes I floss multiple times a day.

I clicked other. Brush twice a day, floss once and additional times only as needed, my gums just can’t take much more than that. Mouthwash once a day unless I am by myself all day and forget, except when I’m with partner, then twice a day.

I don’t believe that the majority brush AND floss, as per your poll results. Sometimes I think people have a hard time even being honest with themselves on this, because it can be such a personal and embarrassing thing.

I work in dentistry and we ask this question to every patient, despite it being VERY easy for us to see how frequently they brush and floss based solely on the health of their teeth/gums. And trust me, many of the ones who say they do floss, clearly don’t. It takes a little bit of poking and prodding to finally get them to admit that they don’t do it nearly as often as they should. Many of them don’t even brush their teeth as frequently as they should, let alone flossing. So, yeah, based on many years of experience in dentistry, I can tell you that the stats above (as they read at this moment) are not the norm.

I admittedly don’t usually even floss more than once everyday. Maybe in a perfect world, and only if I have time and remember. I do always floss once before bed and brush *at least* twice a day (otherwise I feel disgusting and my teeth feel fuzzy). My gingival health stays right on track that way. I also use an electric toothbrush (which I think it also *very* important in maintaining oral hygiene) and use a fluoride rinse.

I generally brush and mouthwash. However, I do have floss picks at my desk and floss when I’m bored, which is often. So I guess I kinda floss?

PoliticallyIncorrect:  haha yeaaaah I think most people don’t floss at all and when they do it’s only on a whim or in advance of a visit to the dentist. I was surprised to see that most self-reported here that they floss daily. Verrrry few of the people I know do.

I’ll admit it, I often brush just once a day. I don’t even think to do it, because it only crosses my mind when my mouth “feels icky” which is in the morning, but uhhh….I chew a lot of gum?

I brush morning and night, and floss at night. Mouthwash sometimes depending on what type we have and if I’m feeling it.

i do all three at least twice a day. after going through a dental nightmare of having teeth pulled and a deep cleaning. im obsessed with flossing at least three times a day. my boyfriend on the other hand never flosses, maybe once a day if i nag him about it at night, but yet the man has perfectly white teeth. go figure. although he also has like 6 cavities, compared to me having none, so it goes to show flossing is extremely important.
