We had a 3 tier wedding cake (spice cake with apple filling - yum) and we also had an ice cream sundae bar. It was a huge hit!
We're having a 3 layer cake with 2 layers of chocolate and 1 layer of almound cake with buttercream frosting. Then our venue comes with a dessert bar, which we've had and it's amazing. It's got cheesecake, eclairs, chocolate cake, cookies, pies, etc.
We're having one tiered cake that looks like a traditional wedding cake, and then a bunch of layer cakes in other flavors for a cake buffet.
Our dessert is a two type mousse with raspberry coulis and then we are serving wedding cake quite a bit later in the evening!
We have our wedding cake PLUS our meal comes with a dessert option so we picked pecan pie with ice cream.
My wedding is casual and guests will be serving themselves. I'll have wedding cake but not in tiered form (rather sitting on a cake stand in varying height) and also other desserts like cookies, pie, tarts, etc.
We are having plain cheesecakes with serve yourself toppings; blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, fudge, caramel, nuts, and crushed oreos.
We're having a dessert served with dinner (almond type cake with fresh local peaches and caramel sea salt ice cream), as well as a dessert buffet at 11pm with our cupcakes, various other cakes, cheese buffet, mini paninis and other savories. I will be exploding the stitches on the side of my dress, believe you me!!!
We're having a cheesecake cake/cupcake. Basically one larger cheesecake for the bridal party, and then small, mini cheesecakes for the guests. However, we will probably have a second dessert in the form of a baked goods buffet at like, 10:00.
Our buffet also comes with dessert. The options include a variety of pies, cakes, cheesecake, custard, fresh fruit, a cheese platter. We're having a 3-tiered wedding cake on top of that, but we still haven't decided on the flavor(s) yet!
We are having a dessert reception that will include wedding cake, Cold Stone ice cream, and a DIY candy buffet.
I'm also letting the fam. know via word of mouth that are welcome to bring their own sweets and party snacks if they wish. We hated the catering options of the Bed and Breakfast we went with. It was too expensive and too limited for me to want to do a full meal, but they did allow outside food for things like desserts and small snacks, so a dessert reception was the best option for us.
mmmmm I want waffles that sounds fantastic! But no, we are having cake.
cake with a chocolate covered strawberry on the side. its a seated dinner so no buffet options or special spread. we are having a grooms cake as well though
We're doing 8 different kinds of cake and cheesecake from a local bakery. The cakes aren't huge, so it's not as much as it sounds like!
We had a four-tier wedding cake with a different flavor for each tier, plus a chocolate fountain with various things for dipping.
Cake, and late night cookies.
I really wanted to do cheesecake, but J has a bunch of family who is lactose intolerant, so ... okay.
I feel like a lot of the fun ideas I find on blogs for making our wedding unique, he really doesn't like - he's usually like, "That's weird. Weddings are supposed to be xyz" (xyz being what I feel is cliche and am trying to avoid, haha).
We are having cupcake sized cheesecakes in a few different flavors with fruit, chocolate sauce and caramel sauce that people can put on their individual cheesecake if they want to.
We are having a three tier cake and two half sheet cakes. That will provide people with a choice of 4 types of cake!
Cake and a cookie bar :) Huge family tradition. Going to have a basket of little pastry bags, so the cookies will also be our 'favor'. yay!
wedding cake and a cookie table with cookies made by my family and friends (PA tradition).
No wedding cake. Our chef is serving chocolate and peacan brownie with vanilla gelato and fresh raspberry coulis. Yum!
We're having a dessert duet - our wedding cake (white cake with strawberries and bavarian cream) plated with a chocolate lava cake and icecream and berries.
Well I could only choose one option on the poll, but actually I'm doing a cupcake tower as the wedding cake, AND offering a mini-dessert buffet with chocolate mousse in martini glasses, creme brulee in coffee cups, and mini key lime tarts. I love desserts, theyre the fave part of any meal for me!! LOL

What sweets are you serving at your reception? Are you having just one type of thing or a buffet with different selections?
