You Cannot Lose My Love, Sara Groves.
It's very appropriate for what my family has dealt with, and I like that it can be interpreted as parent to child or child to parent. :)
I can't decide between My Wish or I loved her first, I'm gna ask my dad what he likes best :)
We used Louis Armstrong's "What a wonderful world" - I didn't discuss it with my dad except to mention to him that after me & DH's first dance I'd like to dance with him (father/daughter dances tend not to be a formal part of Aussie weddings). While we were dancing I asked if he liked the song and he said yes - we agreed that it was a great song bc it talks about love as it relates to everyone, not just romantic. It was a lovely moment of my wedding day :)
We're doing a combination of dances!!
Starting off with "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman, then it'll cut to Beyonce's "Single Ladies" dance, then it'll go to the Napoleon Dynamite dance and then end with Cinderella again ;]
We're pretty excited about it! Can't wait to start practicing!! (It'll be a surprise for everyone!)

We will be dancing to "Landslide" since that song always reminded my dad of me.
However, the twist...
I'll be going to a recording studio to sing and record it, then play it. Of course there will be a dedication at the beginning of it so they all know its me

well this isnt very original but Me and my grandfather danced to "my girl" by the temptations, hes the only father figure ive ever had and he walked me down the aisle and he will be 72 this june, so i wanted something from his time era that he would like, and well a lot of the popular songs didnt really fit our relationship, since he isnt my dad. We had fun though and I couldnt imagine it any other way.
Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel. It's meaningful to both of us and is a gorgeous song in general.
@mountain.bride- I'll have to get my MOH to film it!! She's the only one that knows about it!! I'll be sure to post it ;] I, too, can't wait to see my Dad get down!!

"My Little Girl" by Tim Mcgraw, ever since it came out, I knew this song was it... everytime it comes on the radio i get teary-eyed.
I am thinking of: My Girl- The Temptations or Daughters- John Mayer. Who knows!!
We danced to "The Way You Look Tonight". It was beautiful!!!!
Brian McKnight's Remember the Magic. My whole family is huge into disney and it was the theme song for Disney World's 25th anniversary and we were there that year. I think he'll like it, I'm not telling him.
