while waiting for all the fall shows to start, i need something new to watch. DH and I like to watch several seasons of a series back to back. so i want to hear some suggestions of a show you love and have watched or been watching for awhile!
we already watch/are done with the following:
Lost
24
House
Dexter
30 Rock
Greys Anatomy
True Blood
Survivor
and i am up to date with:
Gossip Girl
Desperate Housewives
90210
so we are ok watching shows that have already ended but were on for a few years!
I LOVE Sons of Anarchy
Also Boardwalk Empire is good.... Season 2 is getting ready to start on HBO
West Wing! It's an oldie but a goodie. I just finished the series a few weeks ago and am thinking it's about time to start watching again...
One of my favorites is Ghost Whisperer.
Also The Walking Dead. I really love horror movies, so this was a given.
Secret Life. (I know, I know.) haha
Hmm, I need more shows obviously. lol
@Mrs.Estep: I liked the Walking Dead too, but I'm wondering just how long it can really go on.... you know? How many times can you be attacked by zombies before you don't have any people left on earth who aren't zombies? lol
Pushing Daisies--it was cancelled too soon, but I thought it was a great show!
@Mrs.tobe: I know! haha I think this may be the last season? IDK we will see how it goes I guess. :P Also do you know when season 2 starts? Next month?
@Mrs.Estep: I thought I heard a preview say November... but I could be wrong about that. Maybe I'll google it.

Breaking Bad is really good too, except that I've slacked off this season and missed it all. Maybe it's because of all this WEDDING PLANNING.

@PurpleUnicorn: Sons of Anarchy is about a motorcycle club that runs a town. It's got Katy Segal in it (remember Peg bundy?! lol) and a few others that are really good and familiar faces in acting. It sounds like it would be cliche, and I really didn't even want to watch it, but FI and I sat down and watched an episode off Netflix then literally watched season 1 and 2 in a span of a day and a half! lmao It is sooo worth watching! Season 4 is on right now.... It's on the FX network.
Boardwalk Empire is about Atlantic City during prohibition. All the inner workings of slangin' booze under the radar. Also a very good show!
It sounds like you have enough suggestions to keep you going for awhile, but I'll throw another one into the mix, if you feel like comedy: Arrested Development. Its brand of humor is not for everyone, but I think it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life. It was only on for 3 seasons before it got canceled, so you should be able to breeze through it pretty quickly. Last time I checked it was available to watch instantly on Netflix.
Men of a Certain age was an awesome show and I cannot believe it got canceled. It only ran for two seasons only about 6 episodes per season but if you get a chance thru Hulu or somewhere watch it!
My other fav is The Good Wife. Again only been on for two seasons but is returning this season yay!
My guilty pleasure is Glee. I have a 21yr old son and a 13yr old daughter who "forced" me to watch it. I was hooked instantly!
@GreenGables: thanks for that suggestion, we both like unusual humor, so i will definitely keep it in mind!
@luvmyDwight: i totally plan to watch Glee as one of "my" shows. No way in hell i can get DH to sit down and watch a musical TV show though, LOL!
Our main ones we watch together are Dr. Who and Breaking Bad. We also have all the seasons of The Sopranos and we've been watching those. Great show.
As for me, I watch True Blood and Project Runway.
We've been meaning to get into watching Mad Men too, but we are slacking on it.
We both watch Sons of Anarchy and True Blood religiously! And we've recently starting watching Modern Family, its actually quite funny!
Gossip Girl is my personal guilty pleasure...

LOL My FI is over every day until about 9pm and last night he saw the comercials for Glee and was like "well, guess I won't be coming over tomorrow." I said "what are you going to do when we are married?" LOL
Did you watch the Glee project? Lindsey is going to be on the first episode tonight!

Big Bang Theory. I haven't been liking True Blood nearly as much lately, but I loved the first season.
Shows I don't like to miss: Parks & Recreation, The Big Bang Theory, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Raising Hope, Criminal Minds, Happy Endings and Modern Family. Clearly I watch a lot of TV.
@PurpleUnicorn Pushing Daisies was on for two seasons. My FI and I watched both seasons over a few days, because we kept wanting to see the next episode :) They were talking about making a comic book about it, and I'm hoping it comes out one day.
@ kala_way Yes, the storyline, scenery, costumes, and details were so beautiful! (and the pies looked so delicious :) )
These are my favorites:
Criminal Minds, How I met You Mother, Parenthood (probably my favorite), The Sing Off, and Teen Mom (lame, I know).
Arrested Development, Battlestar Galactica, How I Met Your Mother.
We love, love, love Supernatural and Gilmore Girls (started out as my thing but DH got pulled in too).
I love Mad Men, just watched the entire series in the last month or so.
DH love Dexter.

The I.T. Crowd & Game of Thrones, but still waiting for the next seasons to come out..
I never miss Haven or The Middle (this show sooo does not get the credit it deserves!)
