Preferably decor-wise!
I'm trying to get a pretty solid list of DIY projects I need to complete and things I need to search for, but I feel like I don't have enough decor.
So, what is your favorite element of your wedding (or what was your favorite element of your wedding)? What are your favorite sites for inspiration (other then the Bee, of course)?
Bonus points for pictures, and gold stars if it is purple, red, or gold haha (my wedding colors).
@MandaMack: I'm very excited about having colored paper lanterns in my tent. Something like this:

So far, my favorite things are my signs :). I cut gold (bonus points for me!) textured paper out with fancy Martha Stewart punches on the edges and I pasted blue glittery letters (one on each page) and we're going to hang them at the ceremony and reception.
So far, all I have is our date (for engagement photos), "cake!," "photos" and "love."
I'll have photos soon, but I'm at work currently :P.
Does decor on myself count?
Mine was my coloured crinoline!
@KatNYC2011: LOVE THAT! If I was having a tent, that's what I would want. But I'm not, lol. I've actually considered doing some lanterns hap-hasardly around the dance floor because circles is kind of a theme for us because there are these MASSIVE white lanterns in the hall:

If you follow the Bees at all, I'm actually getting married the same place Miss Octopus had her reception, so needless to say I can't wait for her recaps, lol.
@Future Mrs. Martin: Crinoline does not count as decor...but I LOVE that!!! I'm still deciding whether or not I want to do that (only purple, not pink). The only thing holding me back is that my skirt is already pretty full, and I'm not sure I even want to wear a crinny:

@MandaMack: My crinoline actually didn't add any fullness to my dress just colour! So you can do it but it does add more stuff around your legs to walk through LOL!
Sorry I am no help on the decor aspect - I had very minimal decor at my reception.
Definitely the corkscrew hazel tree my friends decorated for me. It totally blew me away. I can hardly wait for pro photos of it!!! There were a lot of little details I loved, but in the decor statement category, this was it!

@Future Mrs. Martin: It's okay...I've actually shown your crinny picture to people to describe what I want, lol. Every other dyed crinny picture I see looks washed out, but yours is SUPER BRITE! And that's what I want! And I plan on doing purple crinny and purple shoes, so your picture is just a really good example!
@bakerella: That's GORGEOUS! I plan on doing a "Well Wishes Tree" something like this:

Only less crystal garland, more red orchids. I hope it turns out as good as your tree did!
So far, it's our cake topper. I adore it because it's our fur-babies.
And I do consider this decor...for the cake.
My Flowers/centerpieces! I posted them somewhere else on the board too. lol.

@stephinPA: WHERE DID YOU GET THAT!!!! I'm obsessed with our furbabies...best cake topper EVER.
Mine was the paper crane curtain lining one side of the dance floor.

Cranes don't exactly fit with everyones vision, but I do suggest some type of curtain or backdrop as a way of dividing up a big room. It turned out to be a great backdrop for photos and just overall fun to walk through :)
2nd favorite was the cat cake topper! It was a surprise for my Husband so the look on his face when he saw it was an added bonus

@flamingred: Those are lovely...exotic looking and SUPER vibrant!
Hmmmm.... Probably the venue!! I LOVE IT!! But the invites are a close second as well as the faux wax seals my mom made... And I love the chandelier envelopes that I am making. I guess for me it's all of the details. Because I attend so many weddings, I wanted mine to be a bit more special, different, less ordinary, and I think that I am achieving my goal.
@PaperCrane: Just wondering...did you make those yourself or get them made? They're really cool, though I don't know how I would incorporate that into my venue/theme...
@MandaMack - etsy.com the seller is http://www.etsy.com/shop/mudcards?ref=seller_info
She was great. Ours cost $55 and if you don't like it, you are not obligated. But she was great to work with.
I made all 1000 of them! but I only ended up using maybe half, and those suckers were everywhere.
without a doubt - our crane/crystal/manzanita escort card table!! it blew me away!

@PaperCrane: Actually, I lied...I have the perfect place to put it...but what else could I use other then paper cranes?? I'm actually pretty origami-savvy (I'm good at things like folding/knotting/sewing/etc) or could I potentially go a completely different route?
@stephinPA: I wonder if she could do 3 dogs and 2 cats...hahaha (I'm addicted to pets)
If you're going for a shperical theme, you can make these:
they're pretty easy and very cheap
@PaperCrane: I love those! Where do you find them/how do you make them?
@PaperCrane: Those could work...if I had to describe my wedding in a few words it would be (in no particular order)
I think those are definitely spherical, and pretty whimsical, and could be made is purple, red and gold, lol. Now I just have to hunt down a tutorial, there are probably a bunch on here...
also check these out

I think they'd go great with the modern style of the venue, and if you buy those fillable oranments (on sale after xmas of course) you can fill them with red, purple and gold stuff.
@PaperCrane: You get like 30 gold stars, haha. My only fear would be curtains made of semi-breakable materials...I would have to experiment a little with these. But I could almost definitely get a TON of them for next to nothing after christmas...
@KatNYC2011: search for "martha stewart tissue flowers" and those thigns pop up all over the place. here's a good tutorial
I madea few for my wedding but didn't puff them out all the way

My hand decorated mason jars that were romantic and my DIY centerpieces, I loved that i was able to pull of a "classy" rustic look somehow! :)
@MandaMack
They are so easy!! Its actually just some paper from the Dollar store and I used stick glue to glur it on! *laugh* I have them in my bathroom now and I just love the "glow" it makes when you have a cnadle in them :)
@Baileyh: really? They don't really go along with my wedding...but they could definitely go along with my bathroom! haha I'll add that one to the list of post wedding projects to keep myself busy after the big day! lol.
@MandaMAck My after wedding project is sewing new cushion covers! Way to get on a list before the wedding though...I wish i had done that..i was so bored and lost right after the wedding as i had no "projects"
wow what a cool thread! mine would def. have to be our cake topper!
the cake itself was just a sheet cake my husband's boss made (hubby is a caterer and so we of coursed used his business)...but the topper was AMAZING!

@JuneBride_26June2010: That's super cute! Was it an etsy find?
@Future Mrs. Martin: Love it!
Mine was the centerpieces. We donated money to the American Brain Tumor Association in honor of my father who passed away and had donation cards made. I don't have a picture of the centerpieces that will fit the site but they matched our invitations!
@Treasure43: That's so sweet and meaningful. I'm a huge fan of donation-favors!
@MandaMack: no. i found her on another site.
