What is it and why? Mine is Paul Blart: Mall Cop. When I was going through a divorce and lonely and single, I watched it almost every night before bed. Something about it . . .He is the underdog, kind, naive, clumbsy, sweet, and technologically challenged. I kind of see myself in him. Plus I love the mall, something about the whole movie is comforting to me. And in the end the nice guy gets the girl! I cry at the end.
My friends, sister, and FI make fun of me til they are blue in the face, but I can't help it!
White Chicks.. the one where the Wayans brothers dress up like spoiled white socialites. It is the stupidest movie ever and I have no idea why I love it so much haha
I know this will sound dorky, and I don't admit this to anyone in real life, but I love it when the Disney channel does a double feature of "The Parent Trap" movies... the original one from 1961 with Hayley Mills, followed by the re-make with Lindsay Lohan. (putting paper bag over head now)
Mine is The House Bunny. I'll only watch it when nobody is home or I lock myself in my room. I don't know why, but I love that movie.
The Princess Diaries 2. I used to watch it when I was younger and stayed home sick so it's sort of a comfort thing I guess. I don't feel all that guilty though since my mom enjoys it too ;)
queen of the damned lol jeesh..
We used to watch it all the time in my dorm room. Idk why we just did and so I guess it is kind of sentimental in a weird way.
Bride Wars haha! I know that coming from an intellectual and critical standpoint it was a pretty bad movie, but I love it! Definitely a guilty pleasure.
Twilight...
I love to love to hate it. Some of my favorite girl time is popping any of them in and just mocking it while unashamedly loving it at the same time. For breaking dawn, a friend and I went to a cool theater with car seats and food. We ordered some nachos, margaritas and ripped it apart since there wasn't really anyone else there(no risk of disturbing others)
It was awesome sauce.
I love Sweet Home Alabama. Josh Lewis (her first husband) is so hot in that movie!
@Yunalala: CHUNKY'S!!!! Sorry I just moved away from New Hampshire (last week) and it is about the only thing I've found doesn't exist anywhere else.
The High School Musical movies, but that's not a secret to anyone I know.
DIRTY DANCING!!! The original one of course. I've probably seen this movie like 100 times, and I still cry every time Patrick Swayze drives away.
@galloway111: Close to mine, which is the first Princess Diaries movie! I have all the books and just love them, and I guess it's kinda seeing myself in Mia and then watching her transform and start standing up for herself and stuff, I love that movie =) But I actually hate part 2 because it veers completely from the books, which annoys me. In the books she ends up with Michael, as it should be =)
@Moja Milosc: Ugh I ALWAYS watch that movie when it's on. Hahaha. I wouldn't consider that my guilty pleasure though. I know there is one, but I honestly can't think of it right now.
@Nicoley1985: For sure White Chicks. My friends and I have SOO many inside jokes with this movie. We could not get enough for some reason
I'm not ashamed to admit that Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle is my guilty pleasure. That movie is so stupid funny. :-)
Someone said Clueless above... while I am not in love with that movie, I am with a young Paul Rudd.... Rawhr!
Titanic.. I know alot of people like it or whatever but its my favorite movie EVER! I watch it a few times a year, its a must! Plus its 4 hours long, so that HAS to say something. lol I LOVE it!
These are all awesome!! Lolol! I cried just watching the Titanic in 3D preview recently. Can't wait for that in april!
Gosh, I have a lot of guilty pleasure movies. John Tucker Must Die, Mean Girls (which I now want to watch because I haven't seen it in forever!), and I totally agree with KatyElle on Bride Wars. It's just so terrible, but I do enjoy it! :) I also go back to Showgirls every few years or so because I am fascinated by that movie and how horrible it is. That is the ultimate guilty pleasure for me.
Mine is Bubble Boy with Jake Gyllenhaal. It's such a stupid, silly movie but I love it. It's when I fell in love with him too.
Disney movies *hides face*. I think because I loved them so much as a child that they are familiar and reassuring. I LOVE when I babysit a kid because I can put on a great Disney movie and relive a part of my childhood.
SO EMBARESSING THOUGH!
Twilight, now I feel like I have to bury my head somewhere. I havent watched the latest one though, maybe I'm recovered.
My guilty pleasure is definitely The Sound of Music. I might even have the soundtrack in my car
. I'd be so embarrassed if anyone ever heard me trying to sing like Mariah ba ha ha.
The Step Up series and Honey. I like it when they dance in movies (errgh so embarrased)
I don't have guilty pleasure movies, as much as guilty pleasure TV shows. I love Gossip Girl and Vampire Diaries even though I know they are both over the top dramas
Bridget Jones's Diary. I literally hide the DVD in my sock drawer, that's how ashamed I am of having that movie, but I love it so much. I occasionally watch it on sick days.
Charlie's Angels. There's just something I really love about that movie - especially the fact that they (the cast, the producers, the writers, everyone) basically know it's a joke, so they just play it up to make it even more campy.
@As_You_Wish: My FI and I went to Salzburg last year and went on a Sound of Music tour. It was awesome! Also, maybe it's because I love it so much, but I really don't think you should feel guilty about liking The Sound of Music. It's a classic!
I guess my guilty pleasure movie is George of the Jungle. I used to love it when I was growing up, and shirtless Brendan Fraser introduced me to my first lusty feelings. I still watch it now even though it's a pretty ridiculous movie.
@As_You_Wish: What? That's one of the best movies ever made, no way is that guilt worthy!
I just thought of another one for me: Center Stage! It's such a cliche movie but I love the dancing and drama.
