So I just began my registry (at amazon.com and oh my gosh--it's the best spot to register at! think: endless possibilities!)
My most favorite item is: A gorgeous carved Hope Chest! (ok, ok, and a fabo mantel clock with chimes!)
What are YOU must excited about?
right now, the pie server - I need one all the time and I improvise poorly with a knife
new espresso machine
(our current one we bought used 5 years ago and it is still kicking but just barely...and we use it every day)
I had so many, but I think my most favorite was either my bedspread, Kitchenaid mixer or the Cuisinart fondue pot. I love that thing!
The kitchenaid mixer! I've been dreaming of getting one of those babies for YEARS.
oooh so many things. i'm REALLY hoping for - like so many - to get the stand mixer! :D
but i think one thing in my mind that i realllllllly want - an ice cream maker!
Oh man another one for the stand mixer here! Even though I won't use it all the time. I'm also really excited for the cuisinart. We don't have a food processor right now it's gonna make cooking so much easier.
I'm also psyched for our everyday dishes from PB. I signed up for evertything in the "Emma" pattern, I've wanted them for years, but couldn't justify buying it all for myself.
Fun thread VirginiaMarie.
@Blood--Love that set. GORGEOUS. Great taste
@Naangel, Cinnamon, Junebride, dancy- So I wasn't going to register for one (a kitchenaide mixer that is!), assuming I won't use it much. But my aunt already told me she wants to get me one. Hmm, no idea which to tell her. I guess I need to look up reviews? What makes one better than another?
I'm old school so I registered for the Kitchenaid Artisan model with the tilt top (I think the newer ones have bowls that tilt out instead). I chose it in Ivory - the same as my Mom's. She's had the same machine since the 60's and the only repair that's been done is that they needed to replace the plate where the bowl screws onto the base - she'd used it so much the threading had worn down after 40+yrs. LOL
I won't use it all the time, but a few years of Christmas cookies and hosting 2 Thanksgivings and a 30th b-day without it has taught me that lesson. It's also great for anything else you can think of - it has attachments to make everything from homemade pasta, to homemade ice cream.
I think I even put down for an extra bowl so I can use 2 at the same time. LOL
1)Kitchenaid Mixer
2)Vera Wang China
3)Le Creuset Griddle (I peeked...got it!!!)
4)Samsonite Luggage
5)Bissel or Dyson....I just need one that is nice and doesn't just push the just cleaned lines on my carpet like my current $40 one ;)
@ Sulli - FI wants the Dyson too. I HATE vacuuming & have mostly hardwood floors but he usually does it in the 1 room where we have carpet. The one we have now sucks (no pun intended).
I think he just wants it because he laughs every time Craig Ferguson makes fun of the commercial and says "the proper amount of suction" Hahaha!
I want to register for some All-Clad cookware. I haven't started registering yet though. The thing is that I have been aquiring items for a bit since I have been living on my own for 5 years now and enjoy cooking. I am afraid people are going to freak out when they see how much it costs.
I'm most excited for the crystal we've registered for.
@Joeswaffle: we're the same way, we are registering for pretty nice cooking stuff because we are doing more of an "upgrade" than getting things for the first time and we cook a lot (FI went to cooking school, actually). I have just tried to use some discretion in not going overly crazy and registering for a wide variety of inexpensive items.
I'm uber excited for our Aerogarden especially and also our china...it looks so pretty lol
@dancy haha yeah, those commercials are silly!! we REALLY need a good one. The dyson is a ton but the bissels are a bit more reasonable...I may register for the bissil to make sure I get some of the other stuff I want too :)
I'm most excited for our honeymoon registry! We are going to Montreal and I can't wait!
But if I had to pick a "thing", hands down, it would be our bedding from the Macy's hotel collection-- not that I don't love IKEA and everything, but I am SO ready to get rid of my old sheets and comforter from there!

Le Creuset all the way. We braise and roast like there's no tomorrow.
I'd love if we could get the furniture, Wii Fit Plus or TV, but come on, we just added those for the discount. :)
I'm excited to be getting a nice new set of matching plates and silverware. The stuff we are using now is FI's bachelor dinnerware, that is ugly and mismatched.

Casual-ware
@laboroflove that is so smart...and I'm doing it too! Even if none of our family and friend will buy it...atleast we will get the discount when it is all said and done!!!
I want that Dyson! I know 2 friends who registered for it though, and neither of them got it.
The Dyson. I vacuum every other day because of our dogs and I really hope someone is generous enough to get it.
The Le Creuset french oven and the bedding. I'm so excited for high quality non-ikea sheets :)
We registered for a wii just for "funsies"... we never expected to actually get it. Not only did we get it, but we got a couple of games and they threw in a pink controller for me!! :)
I got a few gifts that we hadn't registered for that I ended up looving too (pretty dishes and a coach purse for me and coach wallet for him!)
My hubby's favorite gift was the keurig coffee maker. I must say it's pretty awesome :)
So excited for
- a juicer - its fancy and way expensive and I really hope we get it
- china and crystal
- new everyday dishes
- new bedding
Our flatware.
Like everyone else, I'm big on Ikea, but I miss having forks and spoons that don't bend every time you use them!
Fancy Stuff:

Casual:

Our coffee maker and large pan from William Sonoma. Right now, our current coffee maker sometimes floods teh kitchen with water when it doesn't feel like working and we don't have a pan big enough to cook the WHOLE MEAL in. I have to transfer things from the frying pan to our large pot if any sauteed food needs to be added to sauce it's so annoying!!
We also registered for a ton of DVD boxed sets and a PS3... wouldn't mind having those.
The Kitchenaid mixer was by far my favorite item on our registry. It took me a while to use it, but when I did...WOW! Totally impressed! I found my new baking assistant :)
The ice cream, fro yo, and sorbet maker! It was the thing I was most excited about and the very first present we received. :)
So, I'm totally off the norm, but it was a little mini charcoal grill that was my favorite. He was perfectly round and had a blue lid. So adorable! We got it and used it all the time in our condo. Now that we have a bigger house, he's used for tailgating at Phillies games. He's so little and cute...I love him!
I also asked for a grill (an indoor/outdoor) grill. I didn't see a charcoal one listed but I bet I can't have one in my NY apt
I'm hoping I'll finally receive my red kitchenaid stand mixer! Baking would be loads more fun with one!
@MsTerrapin - I have that set on my Macys registry too! I cannot WAIT for that set!
Kitchenaid. Mixer. I think those were the first words out of my mouth after I said yes! "Of course I'll marry you OMG WE GET TO REGISTER FOR KITCHEN TOYS!"
@Jojo - I love that casualware! Too cute.
