@greenidlady:  Although it would be a terrible destination right now due to the shut down, I absolutely love DC.  Most of the attractions are free including the major museums and the zoo.  The public transportation (Metro) is awesome.  Flights are usually easy to find and cheap to book.  Hotels are a bit expensive but with great public transit, you can stay just outside of the city and still be able to get there quickly on the Metro after rush hour.

Montana– hands down. I lived/worked there for several months doing some seasonal ranch stuff and it is the most beautiful place and I love, love LOVE going there.

@greenidlady:  The caribbean for me.  I grew up in a mountainous land locked state, so I crave being near the ocean.

I’ve been to quite a few warm places and something about Hawaii makes me feel all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it. I bawl everytime I get home from there. Other places I can leave and sometimes even look forward to coming home. But not Hawaii.

I love visiting friends in San Francisco (side trip to Pt. Reyes), shopping and dining in Chicago, being with family on Cape Cod, hiking in the woods of MI with my husband! I also hope to get back to Italy with my husband in the next few years. I went on a trip to Austin with girlfriends and it was insanely fun, can’t wait to go back. I also have an odd affection for Las Vegas – it’s so gross in many ways but I love fancy hotels! There are so many in LV and you can get amazing rates. But I suppose Point Reyes is probably my favorite place that I’ve ever been, good combination of great food options, easy to get to, relatively affordable, and gorgeous outdoor scenery.

I went I Australia and New Zealand for a month with my family during high school. I loved it, and will definitely go back sometime. For beaches… I have a favorite resort in the Mayan Riviera I think of fondly, and Turks and Caicos has such beautiful beaches.
