Since I'm sick and on my fifth day of eating sick food, I thought I would ask, what is your favorite sick food?

What's the food you always think about when sick?

For me it's Cream of Wheat and Large Chicken OR Seafood Pho.

I've been living on those two things for a good week now.   When I'm sick I don't want to eat anything but Mr. Holiday has been forcing that stuff down my throat whenever I'm awake :P

    What's yours?

    Tim Horton's chicken noodle soup!

I was sick this summer with the nastiest flu in the US and I just longed for Tim Hortons soup! :)

Canadian brides will know what I'm talking about!

Matzoh ball soup. I tend to like brothy soups when I'm sick, as I guess most people do. :)

Cream of Wheat is sooooooooo good! I get it for dinner sometimes when I'm lazy

As for when I'm sick I like applesauce (unless I'm not feeling the texture) or rice...My mom always put us on the BRAT diet (banana's, rice, applesauce, and toast) when we were sick. Maybe that's why I like those things?

Mmm and I love saltines! I can't keep them in the house or I'd eat the whole box! I definitely stick with saltines & ginerale during my sick days! haha thats a healthy, well balanced diet to nurse me back to health. Sheesh!

Totally chicken tortilla soup from Baja Fresh.  I wasn't feeling good a few days ago, and stopped by on my way home from a meeting, and THEY WERE OUT.  I was distraught.

And Tom Yum Goong! Mmmm super spicy soups all the way.

hmm, for me, when I'm sick I crave:

    chicken and dumplings (grandma's/mom's recipe)

    biscuits and sausage gravy

homemade chicken broth with egg noodles

Warm tortilla with a little butter and pinch of salt on it

Tom Yum Gai soup, or other spicy Thai soups

and when I'm hangover-sick, I crave chicken mcnuggets!!! only time I eat them; yuk!! ;-P

Oh, really random one: Pizza Hut breadsticks. This so goes back to when I was a kid and my mom would get me these.

Mac and Cheese! (the Kraft kind).  And I hate hot tea so I drink hot apple cider or hot chocolate to make my throat feel better :)

Depends on the kind of sick, but the childhood standby was always Velveeta shells and cheese, and a big glass of cherry seven up. These days, it's more likely "stuff": green onions and tomatoes on a cream-cheese smeared tortilla.

Man, all of these foods sound great, though! I must be getting hungry... :)

Oatmeal and ice cream both do the trick.  Yummmm.

Or tonight, I had Chicken Katsu Curry from Wagamamma, which probably contains more calories in the one dish than I've had over the three last days of sickness.  Finally am feeling better!

    Feel better, TPHoliday!

If I'm not vomiting-sick...any chunky soup is amazing...I make a soup thats basically pot roast with carrots, potatoes, and onions...which is just pure comfort food for me.

Mmm, everything sounds so yummy, and I'm not even sick.

If I'm sick to my stomach, my mom would always give me saltines, fresh ginger tea, and a really savory rice soup/broth, and jell-o. Actually, since moving closer to home, I've been almost waiting to get sick, so she can take care of me! Although fiance does a pretty good job, too. :-D

My favorite sick food is this homemade Greek soup from a William-Sonoma cookbook: http://www.williams-sonoma.com/recipe/greek-chicken-lemon-soup.html

The original recipe had you use orzo instead of rice, however.

I love it even when I'm not sick!

Applesauce and hot jello. I don't like solid foods at all when I'm sick, and they don't go down either.

All the sugestions are making me hungry!  (with the possible exception of Ember78's aplesauce and jello...sounds funny though.  hehe!)

When I'm poorly, All I want to eat is Bannanas.  Which is odd, because if I eat too many when I'm not ill, they make me ill!   If I'm not too poorly, I want chicken noodles.

I am a bread and butter freak of nature.  So I crave toast with butter.  At lunch it's chicken soup with saltene crackers and yes, butter on the saltenes...YUM!

Boiled potato skinned, mashed, topped with salt and plain yogurt.

Or plan white rice, with salt and plain yogurt.

This might sound really gross but I always want french fries covered in cheddar cheese and bacon ... with ranch on the side.

Seriously. Even when it's my stomach that's sick.
