Hi Destination Brides..just curious if you are all having favours at your wedding and if so what are they? We are giving travel mugs to our guests with our names and wedding date on them. I found an mazing deal on them and got them in my wedding colours 🙂 It was actually my parents idea. We thought it would be a good idea for all the guests at the resort who were there for the wedding to recognize each other as being with ur wedding because of the cups that they will fill with drinks from the bar. We are having over 60 people so there will be alot of people there for our wedding and people might not recognize faces or remember names lol

I’m not totally suer we’re doingthem yet, but since we’re getting married in Scotland so FI really wants to do authentic pint glasses (apparently the ones here are slightly different)

in addition to our welcome bags, i gave out sandalwood fans at the ceremony. and the welcome bags themselves were mini canvas bags with Jamaica embroiderd on them – they were perfect for carrying stuff to the beach.

We will be doing favors but we’re not sure what yet. I’d love to hear other DW brides’ ideas as well!

We’re not doing them. I’ve just never heard of a favor that people bothered to use and didn’t just clutter up their junk drawer. To each their own.
ETA: wait, that’s a lie. My cousin had a small wedding (~40 people) and she bought a really nice wheel of parmesan, cut it into fairly large pieces (like the size you would buy from the grocery store) and packaged it up nicely with dried berries and gave it out. I would totally do that, but I don’t think transporting cheese to and from Mexico is practical.

I had white chocolate sand dollars made from an etsy vendor and she shipped them straight to the resort.
I much prefer edible favors and they we pretty yummy. They come is white, milk and dark chocolate. I choose white chocolate since sand dollars are actually white!
(these aren’t mine but from her Etsy site)
I also had welcome bags and put rum cakes in each bag for their arrival along with a welcome letter!

@weddingbound: These are adorable! Were they ok transporting them over there? I wanted something chocolate in addition to the travel mugs we are giving but I’m afraid they might melt on they way down there!

@sweetchiquita12: I ordered mine from an ETSY vendor who shipped directly to the resort. She had it packed wonderfully and no damage and no melting. I think there was some type of dry ice or something in there I think to keep it from melting.
PS- I almost didn’t get them in time thou….I had to track them down at the ST Thomas post office the day before the wedding b/c they took way longer to get there than expected…..so that’s an entirely different issue!

Instead of renting glassware from the vendors, we’re going to provide guests with mason jars to drink their beverages that will have some ribbon or twine (maybe with small hearts). We’re going to put Etch-it tags on the jars so people can put their own flair on it =)

We are doing luggage tags, flip flops, and pashminas

@sweetchiquita12: Where did you find your travel mugs?! We want to do this also!
@Ms. Blue: Luggage tags are such a great idea! Are you giving them at the wedding? Or sending them with the invitation for guests to use on their trip?

I am thinking of doing stemless wine glasses with something from our theme etched on them, not our names or anything too personal, I want people to actually use them. I figure stemless wine glasses will be easy for people to pack and take back.

@Hallie32: using them as our place cards at the wedding! Putting a card in each one with the person’s name and table number and I will just tuck the card where they can write their name and address for the luggage tag behind that
