I think my FI is under the impression that the only things you can register for are kitchen utensils and towels becaue anytime I ask him what he would like to add he says he is all set. What item did you register for the your FI or DH loves?

Under our honeymoon registry.. i registered kindle books for him, he was super excited for that as he goes through a few books a week, and he loves his kindle!
We both wanted to put a few “fun” type items on there.
He was also pretty excited about a huge deep fryer.. a contertop oven [not a toaster oven.. an actual oven] because he LOVES pizza, and a frother/mixer.

M DH asked that we register for an espresso machine. I dont drink coffee at all but didnt mind cause i knew he would use it. He loves that machine soooo much and was so excited when someone bought it off our registry!

he had a few requests. a sodastream machine was one of them.

We did mostly get kitchen stuff. His favourite item is our coffee maker. We pretty much drink drip coffee exclusively, and this maching grinds the beans for you, and makes THE best cup of coffee. We are so happy with it.
Oh – and a soda stream. Those are awesome. We’ve been drinking a lot of sparkling apple juice lately, lol.

@MelBan: My husband wasn’t terribly excited about anything we registered for except a deep fryer. We ended up not getting the deep fryer, but with some gift cards we received, he was able to pick out a nice coffee grinder and drip coffee maker. He loves making coffee now and it’s the most useful item in our kitchen.

My FI was also excited about a deep fryer- it is the “smart fryer” kind that uses less oil, and he’s been talking about it for years! No one got it for us but I think I’ll have to surprise him with one at some point.
We also registered for a basic charcoal grill that he really enjoys. It is such a stereotypically male thing but it makes him happy for whatever reason!

DH went CRAZY over our Roomba! We didn’t get it, but we traded in some stuff and used some giftcards to get it! He LOVES it (which is silly, because I do the housework!)
He was also really excited to register for a SodaStream!

We registered for 100% linen sheets (DH is a sleep snob) and we really love them! I was also pretty chuffed with my watermleon knife and corn stripper.
I also made sure to register for a lot of high-end cookware — All Clad pots, pans and roasters, etc. I love All-Clad, love the way it cooks. And DH is a great cook, so I wanted to make sure our future kitchen will be well stocked with quality cookware that will last and last.
We registered for a lot of non-traditional items…it actually confused my mom’s friend when she found our registry… she was like “what is up with these lawn tools, composters, and random stuff???” LOL. I still wish someone had gotten us the motor-free push lawn mower, hahaha.

@BrandNewBride: I’ll have to look into the SodaStream, that seems to be pretty popular!

No joke, the wafflemaker. He is so excited that I can make waffles now. As a matter of fact, HE is the one that scanned the damn thing and was like “BUT WE COULD MAKE WAFFLES!” in the store. And then when I got it at my shower he had totally forgotten it was one of his wanted items. He’s still totally happy about the thing, though. XD

We haven’t registered yet, but were thinking about it today….Darling FI thought it would be fun to put some SD memory cards on it…yeah…well..we’ll see about that one.. 😉

Crystal barware – decanter, shot glasses, old fashions, etc
Post # 15
He was excited about the Swarvoski Crystalline White Wine Glasses. We drink alot of wine, and are home winemakers. He has already picked out the style of breakfront china cabinet he would like to display them in.

He’s excited for the wine glasses, the le creuset (and he doesn’t cook!) and the barware. He registered for a decanter, bar tools, ice bucket, etc. If we get those, he will be over the moon.
We didn’t register for anything but kitchen/entertaining needs because:
1. We need it, we’re functioning off a circa 1999 4 place setting from target and three pots. It’s very sad.
2. We’re moving in a year and we currently make do with a double bed, so we decided to forgo sheets and towels.
