MrsUPS:  This was my dress and it went great with our formal rustic theme!

MrsUPS:  All lace? I had a hard time finding an all lace gown but did find a few dresses with beautiful lace appliques, including my own dress!

Have you tried dresses on? I thought I knew what I wanted (all lace or ballgown) but my opinion changed as soon as I started trying on dresses. Good luck 🙂

I would try dresses on – I was convinced that the dress I saw online was THE dress.  Tried it on and hated it.  And the dress that I ended up loving was nothing like what I had planned.  So try on a few and get a sense for what works for you, then you can give your dress maker a clear vision.

Here was mine for my rustic wedding. It was a simple natural-waist chiffon dress, but the overlay was all lace point d’esprit. It was super light, and the gauzy lace and flutter sleeves made it feel rustic and country IMO

MrsUPS:  Check out the Justin Alexander 8725 for a very lacy dress with a similar neckline or the 8714 for an all lace dress.  You might also like the 8686

MrsUPS:  When I think of a rustic wedding, I think a lace dress is perfect. I am getting married in a converted barn and this is the dress I chose, Justin Alexander 8657:

MrsUPS:  My dress is chantilly lace so it is very soft. I wasn’t fond of the lace stitched on top of tulle or the crochet lace.

MrsUPS:  I actually think this dress looks better with some curves! I definitely prefer an all-lace dress over the other kinds. I find them so romantic. I’m adding lots of little lace touches to the rest of the wedding too- in the centrepieces, table plan and menu cards. I wear a lot of lace IRL so it’s very ‘me’!

MrsUPS:  Wow the dress you posted (2nd picture) is STUNNING! The tulle overlay is so romantic! I think that so long as you pick a super soft material it will look wonderful. So either flowy tulle or a light all over lace
