I am a subrogation specialist for a large insurance company (think geckos and cavemen)
I'm also a Pampered Chef consultant (my fun job) and go to school part time for business. In between I'm planning a wedding, trying to find a house oh and spending time with FI. Wouldn't change a thing!
I'm a graphic designer/marketer/SEO Specialist (primarily a designer, though)
I am the registrar at a small private college in Dallas. But, I want to be a phys ed teacher!!!
I work as a nursing assistant in an ALF (assisted living facility) with a lot of patients who have Alzheimer's/Dementia.... I love it. I'm going back to school for nursing this fall. :)
I work for social security, adjudicating disability claims, but I want to be a journalist or a librarian. Unfortunately, there's not a big market for the former in my area (I'm not currently in a position to move) and the latter will require a master's degree
i am surprised that i am the first of the bees to say that i am a "consultant." lol how vague is that?
more specifically, i am an RFP consultant for a major HR company. we do temp staffing and outsourced consulting services... i write the proposals to the companies inquiring about our services.
in a nutshell, i sit in front of a computer all day and answer e-mails all the while typing away in microsoft word, excel, and powerpoint.
i've been here since last july... before that i was a business analyst at EDS (now HP) for three years... before that i was a financial services rep at a smallprivate mutual fund company (where i met FI!) for six months right after college graduation.. but that was an all sales commission job that wasn't cuttin' it.
i start law school 5/3... i will keep my job through the entire 3.5 years... im hoping it flies by and that i can get a job within our legal department... wanna specialize in corporate or contract law.
@TrixieStix - I left there in August 08 to go back to nursing school!!!!! I was in the Buffalo office for over 4 years - was in service for a while and then went to TA1 where I stayed till I left.
I'm a full time nursing student... will be done in May!!!!!!
I'm a full time journalism student, but not for much longer - I graduate in about one month!! I'm currently at an unpaid internship doing online marketing and community management for a start-up website, and I am in the process of looking for (paid) internships in social media / word of mouth marketing / online communications. I have an interview this Friday - wish me luck!
I am a full time professional photographer/painter. I LOVE my job. I work out of my home-office/studio, which is a great fit for me, especially after the wedding because I can make sure that my family is #1 priority while still pursuing my art.
I've been trained in painting for about 14 years, I've been in photography for 4, and I've also been doing freelance Graphic Design for 6 years, but I am not taking new clients in that field. (FI is a graphic designer, and felt like I was in his "territory", and it wasn't something I was passionate about...so I just decided to slowly let that part of my life fade.)
With the wedding coming up, I'm going to be teaching art classes for young teens as a bit of extra income. It's something that all of my friends and family have been pushing me towards for a very long time, and was a huge insecurity for me. My art is so personal for me, and I was afraid of having the responsibility of nurturing young people in finding a passion (or at least an appreciation) for fine arts. But it is time to face my fears, and have confidence, and I feel like it will be a really great experience!
Eventually, my goal is to own an inn that will support the arts in several different ways, but for now, I'm very content where I am, and living out what I've worked so hard for and dreamed of since I could hold a paintbrush.
I'm a manufacturing engineer for an aerospace supplier. My job is ok, but I'd like something a little more challenging instead of just being the ERP system expert. But my boss is awesome and he's getting me into some Continous Improvement activities and future planning stuff.
I'm actually job hunting right now to move back to my family due to some medical issues. If any bees know of openings in MN, let me know!!!! I'd be eternally grateful!
I'm a recent law school graduate. Just found out last week I passed the bar so now I am applying for jobs. Hoping to be a district attorney and prosecute juvenile gang crimes in the coming months!
