We are playing "We are Man and Wife" by Michelle Featherstone. It's a very beautiful song.
We played Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight... it was such a sweet last dance song. :)
@ddubzz: oh my goodness, I want Wonderful Tonight to be our last song too! FI wanted it to be our first dance song, but we found another one for that and I think this is perfect for the end of the night.
Save the best for Last by Vanessa Williams was our last song.
Our last 3 songs are scripted out for our band --
3rd to last -- "Late in the Evening" -- Paul Simon (this is my dad's request, and we like to make dad happy!)
2nd to last -- "Wonderful Tonight" -- Eric Clapton
last -- "Good Riddance (Time of Your Lives)" -- Green Day
You are the Best Thing - Ray LaMontagne ....love him.
We're looking at one of these:
She's Got A Way
At Last
The Way You Look Tonight
Moon River
Fools Rush In
Sweet Caroline. We're Red Sox fans and first said "I love you" while sitting on the Green Monster!
"Closing Time" by Semisonic
This is our song, but it doesn't work as a first dance song. I really felt we needed to incorporate it into the wedding somehow. Love this song and "I know who I want to take me home" :)
"The Best is Yet to Come" - Frank Sinatra
(We're not having a dancefloor, but all of our "background" music is the Rat Pack.)
@AlmostMrsHeath:I love that song! It's our first dance song :)
We can't decide what our last song should be. Maybe George Michael's I Want Your Sex?! j/k
Um, so this is mildly inappropriate (and kind of hilarious), but Mr. Cardigan is still trying to talk me into letting him ask the dj to play Lady Gaga's "Disco Stick" as our last song. :)
September by Earth, Wind, and Fire.
It's always been "our" song, so we're going to play it at midnight as our last song (we're getting married the 31st of August for this reason, haha, I'm completely serious!).
Baby I Love Your Way - Peter Frampton. Cheesy, but I always find myself singin' it to the fella. LOL
We're huge Yankee fans so our last song will be Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York"
It was supposed to be One More Time by Daft Punk but one of our friends got ahold of the speaker system and plugged in his iPod so instead we played I Gotta Feeling by Black-Eyed Peas for the THIRD time! LOL.
We thought it would be fun to do "Lets get it on" by Marvin Gaye
possibly Let's Get it On. We just think that would be so funny. Or Rock with You, (Michael Jackson)
We are in playing with the idea about Hungover Together by Supersuckers. He wants it as our first song and I REFUSE! He sings it to me everytime we are having drinks.
It so is NOT a wedding song though
I'm thinking about Michael Buble's version of "Save the Last Dance for Me."
Ours was Don't Stop Believin' by Journey...one of our favorites, and it totally got EVERYONE of all ages out on the dance floor (singing, too!)
Wouldn't have changed it for anything!
Love Story by Taylor Swift
I'll Be Seeing You by Billie Holiday. We're having a vintage 1940's style wedding. That song came out in 1944...couldn't be any more perfect.
"The Call" by Regina Spektor. This song has always been really emotional for me. First having a long distance relationship with Kingy, now living on a different hemisphere than all of my friends and family, and as of 3 weeks from now, we'll be moving back to my hometown and Kingy will be living on a different hemisphere than his friends and family. It makes me cry, ever. single. time.
