I would expect to see a normal distribution centered around size 8.  I think that's probably average.

I'm a size 7 in flip flops but, most people I know tend to wear a size 8.

I am not tall but not short either.  5'6" but my feet are a 6 or a 6.5 depending on the shoe.

I'm doing a flip flop basket too. I found this website that sells flip flops in bulk. Each order has a variety of sizes in it (S, M, L):

    https://www.eroswholesale.com/items.php?catid=20&gclid=CLXfm_yxtKACFQVaagod0nocTw

I'm not sure of the quality though...

    I'm usually an 8.5 so I'd get a 8 or 9 depending on the brand :)

I think "8" is a pretty common size...I'm 5'6 so average height as well.

I wear a 7. Everyone else I know is all over the board as far as sizes are concerned so it would be impossible for anyone to even begin figuring out how to decide on what sizes to get and how many of each. I have heard it said that you should just get a ton of size 8 and everyone can fit in those, regardless of their actual size, but that will not work for most people.

That said, most women who remove their heels do not change into flip flops, and it is very difficult to dance in them. Men will not take off their shoes to change into them at all. So you may be better off saving your money and putting it toward food/drink, dj or photography that folks will actually remember.

I am 7 or 7.5 depending on the shoe...I think my flipflops are 8.

@Soon2bMrsWheeler: Do you know where you're getting your flipflops? I'm just wondering because I may also buy a bunch for my guests. We have a long mulch and dirt path leading to our ceremony site, so I'd like to put a pail of flipflops at the beginning for anyone who arrives in heels and can't walk on the path.

I wear a size 8...so for flip flops it can range 7-8 depending on the style.

Oh! And old Navy had them 2 for 5 right now!

Good idea to do a poll to figure that out =) I'm doing the same thing, so I might come back to check your results and use the distribution myself!

I've been thinking about getting flip flops for guests too.  Just out of curiosity, how many guests are you having and how many flip flops are you getting?  What kind of reasoning did you use to choose what you got?  I have no clue where to start!

I have tiny feet. Usually I wear a 2.5-3 in kids. A 5 in women's is usually too big for me.

I think it also depends on the ethnic makeup of your guest list... For example, I will have a lot of asian people at my wedding so it would be logical to get more smaller sizes than larger sizes.
