I'm not sure what I will use yet, maybe the garter? i wanted blue shoes but i am having a burgandy dress and I can't think of a shade of blue that will go with it.
what is your something blue?
is there a shade of blue that goes well with burgundy??
I'm wearing blue Louboutins! I love the idea of making your shoes the something blue. But I think a blue garter would be cute, or I've seen people who pin a blue ribbon somewhere on their dress (I think someone on here did it with her fiance's name on it?).
I'd say a dark blue with the burgandy. Does navy still count as something blue? Can we see the dress?
a handkerchief that belonged to my grandfather, who raised me and has since passed away.
I carried a vintage hankie with blue flowers on it.
I tried the garter, but my dress was pretty thin so you could see the blue through it.
I have several something blues: great-grandmother's brooch, shoes (btw: any blue will pretty much go with burgundy--) and there'll be blue in the bouquet.
I cant post the dress because i am having it made I will when I get it though :)
An heirloom ring from my FI's stepmother. It belonged to her late grandmother.
Earrings, shoes, flowers in my bouquet, and garter. What can I say, I love blue!!
My wedding band below could be my something blue, but I'm still on the fence about my bracelet, possibly one of the three below (I love them all- so hard to choose!!):

@rachgirl82: They're all really pretty. I particularly love the 2nd one!
I'm wearing my grandmother's aquamarine cocktail ring on my right hand :)
My something blue is my grandma's old scarf that she used when she rolled her hair :). I'm going to pin it in the underside of my dress. I miss her so much! She practically raised me growing up. I am excited that I can carry a piece with me down the isle to remember her by on my special day.
@soon2beMrsGP: Totally awesome idea! I wanted to embroider something like that, I may steal this!!
Can I cheat and have my 'something blue' be a tattoo?? It's already there...after all
Right now, it's a brooch in my brooch bouquet. The blue is so dark it looks black. FI just found, however, a GORGEOUS small blue porcelain mask from Venice that he got years ago. Since we're having a masquerade wedding, I might attach the mask to the handle of the bouquet.
@soon2beMrsGP: That is a great idea. I was considering doing something similar, but simpler. I was just going to sew a blue ribbon inside my petticoats - perhaps include a little horseshoe. I do like your idea a lot though, so I might nick it!
I carried my great great grandmothers blue hankercheif with ivory lace around the outside.
@murmur and @ninadoggy: Thanks so much! I got that idea from a pic I saw on another website and loved it! My seamstress that did my alterations had previously made one for 1 other bride, and it turned out to be one of my absolute favorite things from the wedding :)
my toss garter (I am wearing two actually, i have a special made one that is for my groom to keep)
i had my husband's grandmother's ring stitched into the pocket. it has a large blue stone in it. i also had my great grandma's wedding ring stitched into the pocket too for my something borrowed, since its still my mom's ring and hasnt been passed down to me yet.
@rachgirl82: The first bracelet is gorgeous...I like your wedding band too!
My accent/BM dress color is a dusty aqua, so my mom got me a pair of aquamarine earrings for my something blue. They are emerald cut aquamarine drop earrings with little diamonds around the aquamarines. Can't wait to wear them!
I want to do something like this..

i could totally get my mom to do that on my dress :)
I love the idea of having sapphire jewelry as your something blue. I think deep blue sapphires are absolutely stunning against an all white, bridal ensemble. My something blue will be my Zales sapphire and diamond promise ring which will become my engagement ring when the time comes!
These two pairs of studs are gorgeous:

Oh! I wish I had seen this before! I would have loved to have had our wedding date sewn in my dress!
Nothing yet, and in no hurry to find it. I'm not a traditional bride you could say.
Here's my "something blue." It was fun and lasted all through our beach honeymoon :-)

I love the idea of blue on the shoes and if you dont want to wear an all blue shoe theres a maker maybe more tgan one who makes powder blue soled wedding shoes. Ive also seen blue rhinestones on the bottom of soles that say I do - one word on each sole!

@MrsELS: that is SO hot! loveee it! I wanna do blue shoes too. A part of me wants to do royal blue crystal earrings, but that's a bit risky and in your face, literally!
my dress is blue. ;) i'm also having an aquamarine RHR made. it's DS's birthstone, so it's perfect.
can my wedding be my something blue? my wedding (for those who have been to David's) are horizon, cornflower, and capri with silver and black accents....lol
I think I will do garter. I really can't imagine wearing blue anywhere visable. Works for some but I just can't think of anywhere it would look good for me.
@jadeblue:Haha good idea! If my shoes are closed toe I might just have to do that!
