I have no idea what to do... something new is obviously the dress (for most people) but what about the other 3?? Especially something blue. My colours are pink and brown so wearing something blue would look funny...

I haven't figured it all out yet but I'm definitely sure of what I want for my something blue! I'm getting my dress made and they're making a petticoat for me too and I'm going to ask them to embroider our names and the date in blue thread on my petticoat! I'm really excited about getting photos of me showing off my cute petticoat with my something blue on it! My mum has my nana's earrings that she wore for her wedding and they're beautiful but I'm not sure I'll wear them as my 'something old' cos they're a smidge dangly for me at the moment. I have NO idea what to use for my something borrowed and I guess the dress will be something new!

My something new is my dress. My something old and something borrowed may be my mothers veil, depending on how it looks with the dress. And the something blue will either be a garter or may find some lingerie that has blue on it.

My dress was new, and I borrowed my mom's earrings which had belonged to my great-grandmother for my old and borrowed. (I tried to wear my great-grandmother's wedding band, but it was too big, and we hadn't thought ahead to get a sizer.) I wore a pair of blue bridal panties from Victoria's Secret that were gifted to me by my bridesmaids. I like Miss Sparklespaniel's plan to have the embroidery on her petticoat. It doesn't have to be visible, so you shouldn't worry about how it would look with your colors; there are lots of options!

Old - FI's great grandmothers ivory lace hanky to go in my bouquet.

Borrowed - I bought a faux fur jacket from Mrs. Labrador a few days okay.  I am considering it borrowed.  LOL.

    New - probably my dress

Blue - Undecided.  Maybe undies or toe polish (am wearing closed toed shoes)

I came across the idea of doing that for drinks at your reception: An old school cocktail, a cocktail that you and the bartender invented, something from the area where you're getting married and a blue cocktail!

I have a ring that my FI gave me 9 years ago, and I'm considering that to be "old." I can't imagine not getting married with it on my right hand anyway. My dress is new. My shoes are blue. And something borrowed...I don't know. I don't have plans to borrow anything at the moment, because I've found my own jewelry that I love. I don't care much about the tradition and might leave it out, but I know certain family members will freak if I don't have all four.

    New - Dress and shoes

Old - I have a necklace that FH bought me years ago, that might be my old. Otherwise I have lots of other jewellery that I could wear for my old.

Borrowed - If I can't find someone to borrow my hairpiece off I might borrow something off my mom.

Blue - Either a simple blue garter or I'll put something blue in my hairpiece - sew in some blue beads or something...

    OLD - My e-ring. It was FI's grandmother's e-ring.

NEW - My dress & Veil

BORROWED - to be decided... I'm not quite sure yet.

    BLUE - My shoes

anyone know where to find a sixpence?  I like that part of the tradition as well.
