Old: is my great grandmother’s locket (I was named after her)  It’s gold and very chunky so it will be attached to my bouquet.

New: my dress

Borrowed: haven’t figure this out yet, possibly my bff’s pearl earrings.

Blue: Shoes!

I just need a something new. My something old, borrowed, and blue is my grandmother’s aunt’s rosary. She was a nun and gave my grandmother a beautiful ladder rosary made with blue beads. Before my grandmother passed, it was given to my mother. I’ll be borrowing this old, blue rosary from her. I dunno about something new, yet. Pretty much everything, though, really.

Old:  The wedding band NotFroofy gave me, which she inherited from her grandmother back in Wales.

New:  My shoes.  (My dress, veil, bra, and crinoline were all bought used, so I really had to stretch to find the something new!)

Borrowed:  The kiddush cup we used for the blessing over wine, borrowed from a newly married friend.

Blue:  My garter.

And I had a silver sixpence in my shoe.  I even made sure it was from before 1920, which is when the UK went from an almost pure silver sixpence to one that was only about half silver.

My something old and borrowed will be a 90 year old handkerchief from my FI’s family. His great gran, grandmother and mother wore it at their weddings, they have no girls in the family, and I will be the first daughter in law.So that is pretty cool.

Something new:If I can find some awesome aqua shoes ,that will be it!

Something blue: Blue stitching in the inside of my dress.

@asianbarbie:

Old – Veil. Designed with lace flowers from my grandmother’s wedding dress and white beads from my mothers wedding dress. Also a watch from my other grandmother.

New – my gown

Blue – fabric from fathers shirt and grandfather’s pants sewn into my gown on the inside

Borrowed – small trinkets given by bridesmaids sewn onto my bouquet for the day.

🙂
I can post pictures after the wedding. I love the story behind each of these items, it makes me feel so connected with all my loved ones.
